Do you remember asking me to change my signature because it looked too much like yours and it had a logout button before anyone else, beside you? I really need this validation because for some stupid reason it drives me nuts that people call MeddlingMage the keeper of the logout button when I had it well before he did.Your comment about Bon Jovi made me smile. I don't understand why their sound had to change so dramatically when bands like The Cars, Def Leppard, and Journey all have mew albums and they sound at the very least similar (even if the new guy does not sound like Steve Perry like I was told). What is your Master's Degree in? I have a vague recollection of you mentioning this before your hiatus now that you mentioned it in the thread. Did you feel like you'd been missed while you were gone? Are you a Beastie Boys fan? Their new album is awesome if you are. What do you drive? __________________ *MafiaBass*Joshweek*Letter Bombs!*Logout Mottle Salvation- a new place to play Mafia and WW

Ha! No such agreement exists in my household. But, if it did, I'd pick Bridget Fonda or Kate Hudson.quote: Originally posted by JoshSherman: 1. 1. I remember. Your signature looked EXACTLY like mine. As you can imagine, mods read a TON of posts and seeing your signature and mistaking it for mine THOUSANDS of times per day was VERY distracting. That's why I asked you to change it. I had no problem with you having a logout button, just that the signature looked too much like mine.2. That's not a question, is it? 3. I earned a Master's Degree in Database Administration. 4. Not really. I suppose I would have if I'd won an award or something. But, apparently no one wants me back. (Of course, every day Jazz begging me to come back is totally different!) 5. I like some of their older stuff. I'm not really a fan of rap except for hardcore gangsta rap (Cypress Hill, etc.) 6. Vehicles I've owned: VW Bug - my first car. It was as old as I was. 6V system. Dodge Colt - fun to drive box of a car. Stick shift, lots of bondo and primer. Mazda RX-7 Turbo II - even more fun. 19mpg. My favorite! Kawasaki 454-LTD - black, belt drive, bought new. Then I got married... Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV - straight 6, AWD. 17mpg. Toyota Prius - I put 250,000 miles on it. 50mpg. The only thing I have now: Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV - 27mpg, AWD, all options (DVD, etc.). __________________ Everyone you meet is going through something * BoltBait is the official holder of the MOTL Logout Button [Trades] [Rules] [FAQ] [Prices] [Card Searches] [Tools] [WotC] [Dominoes] [Art] [#MOTL Chat] [Logout]

For what it's worth, I voted for you for Hit and Miss. I was kinda shocked and disappointed that you didn't win. Also, about the sig thing, I was only asking to drive home to everyone reading that I had the logout button first. It might have bothered me at first, but asking me to change it was the right thing to do, inasmuch as not totally copying your sig in the first place would have been __________________ *MafiaBass*Joshweek*Letter Bombs!*Logout Mottle Salvation- a new place to play Mafia and WW

Thanks for the vote. Now that I'm out of school, I'll be around more than I have been recently.quote: Originally posted by JoshSherman:

And, of course, by "first" you mean "second".

Which of the six player psychographics do you identify with, and to what degree for each? (for example, I consider myself a Timmy-Johnny Vorthos)__________________ "I never got any respect at all. My family moved a lot when I was a kid, but I always found them." -- Rodney Dangerfield

No.But, my adopted daughter is African American and we need to oil her down after a bath to keep her skin soft. We don't use olive oil though. I think we use ENJOY Hair and Skin Treatment Oil.

Is this a serious response? I honestly can't tell

It is a very serious response. African Americans typically have very dry skin and hair and use oils to keep moisturized.

Do you have any white children (adopted or otherwise)? If so, do you also keep their skin soft with oils?

I have 4 kids: A 14-year-old daughter (caucasian, made the old fashioned way), a 6-year-old boy (1/4 Thai 3/4 caucasian, adopted), a 5-year-old boy (caucasian, adopted), and a 4-year-old girl (African American, adopted). What made you decide to adopt? Why so long between the first child and the rest?

1. Well, my wife and I aren't getting any younger and we always wanted more than one child.2. My wife had two miscarrages between the time we had our first child and when we started the long process of adoption. In our case, it took about two years to get certified and then over a year to find our first adopted child. You can't adopt another one until the first one is completed. It took 1.5 years to complete the first adoption (which is slightly longer than average). The rest were about the same. There are a ton of kids in the system that need good homes. Adoption has been very rewarding to our family.

What kind of things are involved in the adoption process? Like, do you have to take classes or something? Are there psych tests and stuff?Did you foster your adopted children beforehand? How did you and your wife know that *THIS* was the child for you? Is adoption very expensive? How old were they when you adopted them? Do your adopted children know that they were adopted? If not, are you planning on telling them? How does your biological daughter feel about you and your wife adopting three other children? Was she involved in any of the decisions? Did you ever have any problems with Prius? Is it reliable enough that you would feel good about buying a used Prius?

1. Yes, lots of classes. Plus, you have to prepare your home for the "white glove" inspection--everything must be "kid safe". Also, you need to fill out TONS of paperwork... everything from personal history to medical forms. We also created an "Welcome to our Famliy" book that was filled with TONS of family photos with captions (i.e. "This is your new sister", "This is where you'll sleep.", etc.) This book is used by the social workers to see if you'd be a good fit for the perspective child.2. Yes. We only fostered children that we planned to adopt. 3. You never REALLY know... even when they've grown up. I will tell you this story though: My wife and I had spent one hour per week for months looking through the binders of kids. We'd put our name down for consideration several times each week but always got rejected by the child's social worker. My wife got disappointed so eventually, only I went each week to look through the binders. One week, I was running a little late to the session as I had stopped to grab a bite to eat at Panda Express. There, I got a fortune cookie that said, "You will be successful in whatever you adopt." I thought, "Adopt? Oh, crap, I'm late!" When I arrived, I asked our social worker (who was very experienced) "How are we doing [in the process]?" She told me that we were doing fine, however, because of the limitation we had placed on our search we were not being shown all the kids. The limitations she was talking about was the fact that my wife and I had said that we only wanted kids that were 100% adoptable and would not be lost back to the bio parents. You see, some kids that are in the system have visitations with bio parents to see if they can get their "stuff" together. If so, they can potentially get the kids back. My wife and I weren't comfortable with pouring our hearts out to a child only to lose them. Anyway, she continued, "Like THIS child, for example." She showed me a sheet that described a 3 week old baby boy (no picture). "He is in the high risk group for reunification." I replied, "put us down for him. I think we'd be willing to take a chance on such a child." Amazingly, we welcomed him into our family less than a week later! The bio parents could never get things together and we were eventually allowed to adopt him. He's six now and he's the best kid ever. 4. Domestic adoptions from the government are free. Overseas adoptions (think China) cost about $30,000. Domestic private adoptions vary but are generally in the same range as overseas adoptions. 5. The first one (see answer 3) was only 3 weeks old. The next one was 11 months. The last one was almost 2 years old. 6. I have no trouble telling them. We're keeping no secrets. They are a little too young at the moment to understand. But, when they get older, we will discuss it with them. And, when they turn 18, I will give them their adoption packet showing all information that we know about their bio parents. What they do with that information is up to them. 7. My daughter was thrilled with the adoptions. She is a HUGE help with the kids. She's really like a third parent. quote: Originally posted by choco man: 1. Did you ever have any problems with Prius? 2. Is it reliable enough that you would feel good about buying a used Prius?
1. Nothing major. I loved the car. I found it to be VERY reliable. I still see my used Prius running around town occationally. I can't imagine how many miles it has on it now.2. Sure. Thanks Everyone! It's been a pleasure answering all of your questions!
