What my friend and I typically do is buy a box and we each do a 6 pack sealed. After playing 4-5 games we then exchange each other's pool and see if the other person wouldve made the deck any different. Repeat 3x.

This greatly improves my limited play should I attend a FNM or a side event at a tournament

My first box was alliances that I split with my buddy I was so pumped when I ripped the lord of tresserhorn??? is that the 10/4 bad guy? anyway it was great fun.

once mythics came out buying a box turned into an expensive lottery, not really worth it any more, and I used to buy 2 or more boxes each set.

I usually open a box or two when a set comes out for fun, I certainly lose value, but it's still nice to just rip some packs. One of my local stores did preorders at $75 in trade, so I unloaded some bulk and random stuff for a couple boxes this time around. I also don't mind playing the Korean lottery, I spent $250 to pick up 2 boxes of Korean DA and sadly got nothing of note.

I typically buy a box or two of each set, but only if I can get them at $90/box. Drafting isn't "worth it" to me because my LGS's want $10 for 3 packs, which is more than I pay out avg. for a box.

This set is the first since Worldwake that I bought 3 booster boxes of... and before that, it was Urzas Saga. This set is just that good to me, where I just want oodles and oodles of cards and can't be bothered waiting for bulk deals to become available

Well it was......

Pretty damn. Maybe cause I pulled a lot that I wanted but it was glorious. I have opening packs so that got the juices flowing. Got 7 mythics so pretty damn good box.

Temporal Mastery
Tibalt
Primal Surge
Descent into Madness
Maglinus
Sigarda
Gisela

And even got
Cavern of Souls
Vexing Devil
Silverblade Paladin
Reforge the Soul.

Enjoy AVR and many more sets to come! Box buying may not be for everyone, but I say try it once.

Yea, been seeing a lot of 7-10 mythic AVR boxes, watched a guy open 2x Gris, Temporal Mastery, Entreat, and like four other mythics, another guy open G/W angel, R/W angel, foil G/W angel, tibalt, temporal mastery, plus the two green mythics, and Maglinus....

AVR boxes seem to be opening well...

Given how hard JP singles can be to find, prefer cracking boxes if possible.
