The biggest problem with this is that a lot of these cards are no longer in general circulation. Over time a lot of these cards have ended up in the bulk boxes at stores because of people sold their collections with all of the junk.

When I was building older sets the toughest part was always getting the junk rares. There were lots of the tournament staples floating around but the junk stuff was never at the tournaments. To complete my Legends and Tempest sets I had to order a number of cards from online stores because nobody on MOTL or at the tournaments had any of the cards.

So while it would be cool to collect an older junk card it isn't going to be as easy as one would expect short of going to all of the online shops and buying them.
