2 weeks ago I would've laughed at you I miss my Legacy tournaments. I hope I can play one again, soon. Plus I hope that the new set gets a good mill-card. Makes my tourney report much more interesting

I think it's a play on his username. Aether [Winter] Storm is clunky.

Yup. Coincidentally we had a (minor) stormish-thing going on over here when I created the topic, too. So, on topic, does anybody else play mill?

Cardboard Crack is almost aggressively unfunny.Edit: Me a few weeks ago; "I'll wait to pick up those Protean Hulks. Prices have been stable for a while." Screwed the pooch on that one. $13 my ass.

hey guys. I've noticed cards like dual lands have come down quite a bit, and some of the fetch lots have suddenly dropped 30%~ sporadically (4x wooded ktk went for $50 instead of $80 for example)Is this a slow season or year? even the price charts for plateau/savannah/etc are showing down, down down

SCG announced there would only be one (half as many) legacy main events for their upcoming season. SCG also announced that the Sunday events (aka legacy) would pay out in prize tickets instead of cash. I believe there are also no SCG events west of the Mississippi for the next season.Overall, less money to be won and fewer high profile events to play in means less people are interested in playing the format. That's driving card prices. Edit: http://www.starcitygames.com/magic/misc/31833_.html Double edit: allied fetch prices have much more to do with what's hot in standard than the size of the legacy player base.

Well I hope the duals come back down to $10/each. What would it take for that to happen

This is probably pretty accurate. SCG left a legacy void on the west coast for others to fill. Lower prices will allow more to get in, and the prices will stabilize and continue to rise again. Modern/Standard players who care about their money and think that they would like to play magic for another 20 years will move their value into Legacy/Vintage staples; safe from reprints and becoming obsolete due to power creep.

I've thrown together Legacy ProsBloom. So much fun. I wanted to only run old frame cards too, so now I need to optimize it in that manner. I've got some Meditates coming in to start.Any ideas? Legacy legal and old frames only!

Never played it, but cool idea! Would like to know how it performs in a tourney As for myself, I'm thinking about making a G/W Enchantress deck. What would be the funnest way to win with an Enchantress deck? Emrakul doesn't count as fun.

I'd say I was on the winning side getting the FoW, but I'm sure I traded it off for $3 at some point too.

Guys I go ripped off. I specifically remember going to a card shop and saw a binder with 6 FoW in them. The Inquest price had a range of 2.5 to 4.5 and the guy wanted 4 for it. I argued with him for like 10 minutes before I realized that he wasn't gonna budge, so I ended up pay $12 for 3 of them. But now that I see that I could have gotten it here for $2 in trade? I am beyond ****ed and should go back to that shop and ask for a refund

Yes, you should lol. That does put my ebay buys into perspective...I bought so many dual lands at that time for about $5-10 bucks each. Thing is, in 1995 I was buying them for $7.50 and that was considered a steal. Was it just the growing internet market that drove prices down in 2000?

I would suspect an increase in competition led to a decrease in price.

Duals left extended and old formats received zero support. In the good old days only Extended, T2 and draft had any support.

The dual lands didn't rotate out of extended until November 1st, 2002. In 2001/2002 I was buying duals at $8-$11 ($11 for sea) fairly consistently. It wasn't until the 10th anniversary of magic and mtg was inducted into the gaming hall of fame that prices started going up a lot if memory serves. By 2007 underground sea was probably around $30 http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=sideboard/news/20020517a

At least here in MN, Sea was ~$16 durring 2010, or so. With the other duals trailing by a few dollars.
