Yea. It's really "shook up." EDIT: I guess I should've ended that with a /sarcasm. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games. We don't know games. We can't read minds. Say it like you mean or STFU." -rockondonSale Thread

I've been dumping magic in favor of Star Wars Destiny. Standard is just an abomination and they have all but ruined every other formats play-ability, too. Worst case scenario SWD donks off and I can just living card game it.

ya. i switched to hearthstone at the end of modern pptq season and have been selling off stuff. also bought an xbox one, nes classic, and playing transformers earthwars. scg made legacy irrelevant. wotc's banlist and continually printing of better creatures lets the format be too fast to enjoy standard always feels like lightning money on fire and their inability to curtail speculation makes it feel like im a damn day trader just trying to build a collection

SCG seems to control legacy right now unfortunately. It became irrelevant by them because they made it relevant again at one time. When they saw legacy was no longer making them money they shut the switch off for legacy and turned all of their focus onto modern. Aside from limited I would love to solely play legacy and commander but just like almost anywhere else there is not enough player base to support it locally. Wizards has made many failed attempts in "supporting legacy" between conspiracy sets, Eternal masters, and now masterpiece cards into every new standard set.

Remember that time where the PFMS went 3 weeks without someone commenting on it? Pepperidge farm remembers Sometimes it's funny to go through old pages like the deck help section to to see old discussions. EDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I just had a terrible, TERRIBLE MTG idea. So, I've got a deck that's 100% instants and cards with Flash (not including the lands.) So, if I get it all foiled out... I can call it the Flashy Flash deck.

There are ten magic cards with "flash" in the title. Nine are available in foil (sorry flash flood) Of those nine, seven are instants or grant flashback. (Sorry aether flash and flashfires)Flashy flashy flash deck?

A flash deck would be terrible but there's exactly enough of them to at least make a 3 color 60 card deck using 4 of each "flash" card.

Dane, I was a huge fan of the Decipher game. Still have thousands and thousands of cards. How fun is this new one? Is it tough to play? I was thinking of getting some for my 9 year old to play with me. Seems like availability is pretty lousy though. Boosters seemed sold out except on secondary market. Tim

Of what's been spoiled so far, it's hard to tell what would probably be on the low end. Worship probably sees the least amount of play, but I know it's still a popular casual card. There's also the factor that popular consensus seems to be that the borders on these just look awful. The attempts to make the text look like hieroglyphics seems to have failed miserably. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

Agree the font is miserable. Trick Jarret tweeted a gif of an actual card and it look significantly better than the promo images, but still not something I'd like. In particular, the gold border at the top and bottom actually looks nice in foil, but lame on the previews.

and the font is on purpose https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/628f9w/aaron_forsythe_the_unreadability_of_the/ Sigh. I can get past a lot of the bad design here b/c i like them exploring new things but the font for the name is just absolutely terrible and will be the reason i dont trade for these. i can't even read some of them like daze

Set foil diverts are ~$15.50 TCG market price right now. I can't see these costing less.

I love the design on the cycling duals. I like that they are inherently worse than drawing the 'right' basic every turn, but they still have upside late game. Also, despite being fetchable they don't give you perfect curve and color fixing.

They "suck" but they're what was missing for a good loam deck in modern

And they can be fetched in Commander with Ranger's Path, Three Visits, Skyshroud Claim, Kor Cartographer, Wood Elves, etc....More fetchables for the fetch gods! However, I know it's going to take them at least a few more years before we see the rest of the cycle - unless they REALLY surprise us with them in HOD.

I hope they're in HOD. I want the GB cycle dual for Gitrog Monster, because 5 cycling lands just isn't enough.
