Spitballing potential tribes. I feel like every color will show up in at least one deck.White: spirits, Angels, soldiers, clerics, bird
Blue: spirits, merfolk, Sphinx, wizards, zombie, bird
Black: zombie, vampire, demon, cleric
Red: goblin, dragon, vampire, werewolf
Green: elf, beast, hydra, werewolf
WUBRG: slivers, allies, changings, humans We already had an elf commander deck so I think the green tribe will be something else.

This may be a ... inane guess, but "Angels, Sphinxes, Demons, Dragons, and Hydras" seems like a good guess for the CMDR product this year....with Iconic Masters announcement being the thinly hidden teaser.

Ugh. MSRP $9.99 per pack. WOTC and their stupid money grabs. I'm becoming happier and happier I don't play right now.

I do maybe 1-2 drafts a set any more. Otherwise I pick up the half dozen or so cards I want for EDH from each set...even though I get to play once every other month or so. My biggest concern at this point is all the value I currently hold and how little it gets used. Between duals and what modern stuff has NOT been reprinted, I feel like I'd be better off cashing out 99% of my collection and just hanging on to a couple of the EDH decks I enjoy playing the most. __________________

Ya, it felt like a good time to sell out at the end of the last modern PPTQ season but i moved and just kind of put my magic stuff in the closet. now with mma2017 **** has tanked so it's kind of awkward

There is no color pie requirement though, so there could easily be just one mono and then the rest as multi-colored decks.I imagine there will be a five-color deck of some sort. There's enough cheap fixing at this point that it should be pretty easy to pull off. __________________

I think they should do 2 color tribal commander decks maybe along the lines of this.R/G - Goblins
B/R - Vampires
U/B - Zombies
G/W - Humans
W/U - Angels Could reprint some tribal instant/sorcery stuff such as Tarfire and introduce new tribal themed cards.

This seems pretty on point. Monogreen Elves; or green hydras or red dragons. the other tribes fit nicely into multicolor rolls - zombies populate every color; slivers as well. Hydras are green, red and could be black with a little twist. Sphinxes are blue and white; Dragons go in all the colors. Merefolk are easy Esper or at the very least UW or UB. I'm not looking forward to the super-bull****-pushed-for-commander legends they are going to print - but I'm looking forward to how they actually structure the decks and whatever focal and balancing points they are constructed around.

Hows the card quality on MM17? Better than MM15? Do the cards come out with chip on them like mM15?

It's definitely better than MM15 and very consistent. If you mean the hologram thing that's on rares, yes.

Leovold banned in CommanderProtean Hulk unbanned I would get flustered about Hulk Flash, but there are already a million insta-win combos out there people could be playing. It just reinforces the need for me to not play with randoms and stick to my group. __________________
