Wal-marts website allows 3rd parties to sell items. in this case Toywiz is selling a revised starter. it's also why if you look up NES Classic 'walmart' is out of stock but 3rd party sellers are selling for scalper prices.

Is it just me or Aether Revolt has a lot of good eternal stuff?

Not just you. There are more possibilities in this set than are usually seen, and the whole set hasn't been spoiled yet. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. No one to hear me whine I guess but cracked a box of Eternal Masters I got for Christmas. Opened two mythics, Balance and Sphinx of the Steel Wind. Best rare was Entomb and Maze of Ith. Probably opened like $50 of stuff going by SCG prices (which of course I'd never come close to getting).I expected a beating, but that was ugly.

I took a few months off and returned to EDH today only to discover that French is down to 20 life, nixed commander damage, and now split the format into three parts. WTF?Maintaining a widely-acknowledged banlist is a useful and even a necessary service. Introducing a new format under the guise of an established format... is really ****ty. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. I felt your pain with my first box. 2 Mythics (Balance and Necropotence. Garbage Rare foil and missed on all of the money rares and uncommons. I got a box for Christmas and got the complete opposite. Foil Vampiric Tutor, Mana Crypt, Wasteland, and on and on. Almost $350 by SCG pricing. Luck of the draw. Don't give up

Wow, been really out of touch with mtg lately. I had missed all that drama about 1v1. That's ridiculous, especially when they proceed to unban stuff like Balance!? Real nice format you've got there. EDIT: Meanwhile, I'm kind of jazzed about the fact that most of Aether Revolt seems to be pre-selling pretty low right now. There's a few cards I want to pick up and even the pre-sale prices feel reasonable for a change.

The lower life is a great move. Control was just too dominant in the format because aggro often lacked the reach to clear out the last few points of life.

But unbanning cards like Balance seems totally counterintuitive to helping aggro enter the format. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

By "aggro", you mean burn? I can think of several aggro decks that could do well enough. Goblins, Elves, Jenara, Kytheon, Kaalia, Edric, Xenagos, Marchesa... Sure, they weren't all tier 1. And they're not all pure aggro, since most have some kind of late game. But then, that's the format... it's got a general, life matters less, and it's semi-casual. Going down to 20 life strips the format of one of its defining features (commander damage). __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I think it's hilarious personally because all they're doing to EDH is moving it closer and closer to Vintage with each passing year.__________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. WOTC is in panic modehttp://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/news/january-9-2017-banned-and-restricted-announcement-2017-01-09 Printing mythics to be like other games, then trying to rotate more frequently...now seeing how expensive standard has gotten and how attendance has dropped off they are in panic mode. Printing master pieces is good but still too rare to keep standard mythics like Liliana at reasonable costs for a standard card, still printing most playables at rare/mythic...now banning standard cards again they are definitely in panic mode.

LOL that last line of article text...."we want to keep standard healthy, diverse, and fun". You just printed a Splinter Twin combo, blew up multiple decks, and made Gideon EVEN MORE POWERFUL! Yea, good ****ing job! You narrowed the field down on top of making it less fun!

I've been out of the loop as far as playing goes for awhile. I recently heard about the Frontier format which consists of M15 and newer sets which all have the new card style. Is this the start of an attempt of dividing up Modern to be 2 different formats?

Eh, Frontier is a thing in the same way people tried to make over-extended (or whatever it was called) a thing before Modern was announced. The whole guise of trying to advocate for a new format to help lower costs and improve accessibility is obviously weakened when even the most basic speculation about that format drives up prices. Just look at the movement on Jace, VP ever since talk about Frontier started heating up. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

I don't think WotC will ever let anything the second-best cash cow. This is more about the general population of Japanese players having a format to play that isn't super expensive because of hard-to-get cards. I mean I know they're expensive for us, but imagine having to pay international shipping on top of that because the supply in your whole region is that low. There was a point where major Japanese LGSs were offering money/prizes/stuff just to get suckers to play with the pros. The format is cute. It's something interesting for me to play because **** EDH, but it will not takeover Modern. There's just too much love for the format and probably more so now for people who weren't down with the degenerate crap. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. +1 * 10 ^ infinity. There are some real dumb people walking the halls of WotC. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games. We don't know games. We can't read minds. Say it like you mean or STFU." -rockondonSale Thread

Yeah, totally. And then we have to ask, "What's the point?"

So, I'm looking for another place to trade online. I don't have a facebook profile for the cool facebook group and Pucatrade hasn't really impressed me so far. I'm fooling around with Deckbox, but its interface seems unwieldy. Am I doing it wrong/ does anyone have other suggestions?

Don't touch Puca. Unless you have a paid account and offer bounties/incentives, you will just sit on points for eternity. They ruined the site with updates last year and drove a ton of traders away. I used to never be able to keep points longer than a day...I've been sitting on several thousand for a couple weeks now. Why can't you just make a simple Facebook account? Unrelated - Nice T8 at the Pro Tour. Glad those standard bannings really shook up the format.

I have had some luck on Deckbox, MTG salvation though has fallen off a lot as well at least for me.
