So is anyone at all interested/hyped/pumped/etc. for Iconic Master? I feel like no one's really into this set. Is it Modern Masters fatigue?

I don't follow those sets. I just do pre-releases, the occasional Legacy tournament and drafts. Rarely a budget tourney if they appear. __________________ I'm a geek, you're a geek. They eschewed the hype train with the way they released the set. There was excitement and buzz for the spoilers, but it wasn't as good as them doing a few at a time. Basically you got 2-3 days of hype instead of weeks worth of it. Set seems to have good value, and there are some really cool reprints, but I think that's why you don't see the buzz. Kind of a marketing technique that failed IMO.

Aside from Mana Drain the rest of the set feels like opening a core set. About half a dozen modern playable cards in total deserved much needed reprints but the rest of the set is meh. It looks like it may be a little more limited friendly than what Eternal Masters was but the modern master sets still hold more popularity.

Agree with hilikuS. The decision to spoil the whole thing at Hascon a month+ before release was terrible. Sure, it was fun for the people at the event, but there was no slow build for the rest of us.__________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

I thought they did a pretty good job with the value. There are a lot of cards that I thought needed to be reprinted that are at rare. Flusterstorm and Ancestral Vision to name a couple notables. The only card they really missed was Noble Hierarch. The commons and uncommons are pretty good too.
