He might have physical possession of it if he has a store but he wouldn't be able to offer for sale here on MOTL until Friday at midnight on Russian time.

He only broke MOTLs rule which has nothing to do with Wizards of the Coast policy. It's common for stores to ship a day or 2 before release day as long as the person receiving the item only receives the item on that Friday or after. Even though he may have the item in hand presales on MOTL are viewed as the person physically not having the item in hand therefore should not be offered up for sale before release date.

Any stores caught selling and giving out MTG presale product before release date get their DCI sanctioning taken away from them and further ability to receive future product from Wizards of the Coast. This was the case with a local game store during Mirrodin Beseiged who the store owner chose to hand out the boxes the night before to those who preordered through the store then he did a sealed deck event where the people who bought the boxes could use the whole box to build their deck.
