I don't own any Beta cards, nor have I seen any in person. However, every time I look at a scan of a Beta card, it looks like someone printed out the cards on paper without borders, and glued it to a blackbordered card. I know they aren't fake (since every scan I've seen has them), but to me, it looks really bad. Here's an example (sorry Ben, I needed a pic): http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t146/gestal/Magic/vaultfront.jpg It's pretty clear to see the white marks on the "corners" of the card, and it looks square. I've seen this on every scan, all across the 'net. Why is this? Is this just how these cards look?

yes is how they look. Has to do with the black boarder printing process back in the day.

They sure knew how to make cards look old back then.

Do all Beta cards have the white dots near the corners of the cards? People have posted on the boards that a Beta card looks fake because of either being too dark or missing the white dots.

there's 7 cards that distinctly show up as dark than their nonexistant alpha counterparts.. and the dots in between the 2 borders are harder to see/non existant © __________________ Since it is obviously inconceivable that all religions can be right, the most reasonable conclusion is that they are all wrong. -Christopher HitchensReligion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful. -Seneca the Younger

I've seen some with and some without the white corners and I doubt any of them are fakes...why would you forge a beta swamp? :P

I thought the C version of the 5 Basic lands were all dark with no dots in addition to the Volcanic island and Cop Black, these are the 7 cards Coolio mentioned above.Additionally I thought there are a large number of cards that were hard to see/missing dots like REB/BEB/Channel/Icy/Sedge Troll etc

The beta icy and channel are definitely missing/hard to see the dots. Do the alpha versions have them?
