This is my first time selling using paypal. When receiving payment as simulsend trade does the seller send the cards first then the buyer pays? Also, do people still exchange addresses when paypal is involved? In other words can the buyers shipping address be found on paypal if they have already paid?

From my personal experiences 9/10 times, the buyer will pay first unless there is a huge disparity in refs or if the person is relatively new to the site. quote: Originally posted by mm1983: Also, do people still exchange addresses when paypal is involved? usually the person buying still supplies the address since a lot of transactions here nowadays are gift non-cc paypal (the mailing address doesn't appear in the paypal transaction) The person selling usually only has to supply the paypal addy as their agreement to the transaction

I agree with all of this. If you are selling, you have enough refs that people should be paying you before you send the cards. At least, that's what I do, and I have roughly the same number of refs as you. __________________ 3rd most references in Kentucky; 3rd most posts in KentuckyBlackborder.com Grading Guide

And it's probably a good habit to not include the contents of the trade along with the paypal, some sellers have gotten into trouble by accepting gift payments for goods.__________________

always tell them to leave the note section blank or you will only have your paypal fee free for about a month.

What do you mean "fee free for a month"? __________________ 3rd most references in Kentucky; 3rd most posts in KentuckyBlackborder.com Grading Guide

Some people attempt to circumvent the fees by paying as gift, but still putting "xxx @ MOTL etc" in their comments and descriptions. I myself was one of the buyers guilty of this, but lately I've been a lot more cautious. PayPal employees have taken note recently.

Yeah, that's happened to me before, too. But I didn't understand his phrasing, perhaps: "fee free for a month". Do you just mean after a month they take the fee anyway.

I believe what they're referring to is the email some people have received that says if they don't stop abusing PayPal and breaking the terms of service, the account gets shut down, or something to that effect. I haven't seen the email itself, so I'm not exactly sure what the details are, but I do know that they will shut down people who are receiving payment for goods as personal payments if they have reason to suspect that it is happening. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. This is exactly why I have been leary of doing this and have expressed my opinions on the subject before. I just don't need my acc. shut down to save a couple of bucks! I've had it done before and they have stolen hundreds of dollars from me =(

They don't shut the account down, but they charge you fees for every transaction as though it were a purchase regardless if you were just merging money or gifting it. Paypal has gotten smarter, they will call now sometimes to verify to get you to admit what you are receiving money from. The minute you tell them it is for some form of goods you will get the email in 24 hours. If for say you are getting money as a "graduation gift" they will have to monitor the note sections as that is their only other way of trying to get an idea of what the money is coming from. After a couple of note sections that say MOTL or some form of a good you will get a warning email that states if we continue to see these transaction we will suspend the gift feature on the account. You usually get 30 days. All it then takes is one note section to be filled out and 48 hours later you will get the email of charing fees on every transaction. There was a post a month or so ago telling MOTL members not to put crap in the notes section or you can look forward to higher prices or paying fees. One could say just open another account, well how many email addresses do you want to set up, savings/checking accounts do you want to open, have unique credit card numbers to attach to the account to remove the 500.00 withdrawl limit. I hope this post makes sense as my grammer and spelling are quite poor (blame it on the public school system). Hopefully though it helps enlighten others as to sellers and their practices and constantly changing email addresses.
