I just started playing magic again after 11 years. I dont know if it was like a mispack or whatever but i just opened up a Beta Mox Pearl in a draft tournament. I swear it was the funniest **** ever. 3 guys were all excited cause they pulled foil mythics(Chandra, Lotus Cobra, and Eldrazi monument). I held up the mox and was like "Ummm.. I think i win!" All I saw was 19 other peoples jaws drop.

To top it off.. The damn judge wasnt gonna let me side in my UNL version to play with instead of the beta.

Wow, this about nearly a year late. Wizards of the Coast ended up buying back a bunch of older cards like those and putting them in random packs of Zendikar. It was called "Hidden Treasures" or something.

If the judge knew what he was doing, he would have known that you weren't allowed to use it in that event at all. The rules specifically state that you may only use cards from the sets being used in that tournament for sealed and draft.

That's so awesome that the guy completely oblivious to the gimic opens this, and the people who were digging like mad for golden tickets got the most metal gift of all (NOTHING).

I got screwed out of my pre-ordered 2 months in advance (before the announcement) box, and thus lost out completely.


Awesome pull though for sure.

First run product is still probably sitting on store shelves collecting dust because

A. Nobody buys it anymore
B. It was hoarded and the store tried to re-sell at inflated prices then forgot about it

I'm not too suprised about that, in fact I would bet money that this isn't the last time something like this will happen.

Kudos to you for opening that.


People probably heard about the promotion, but forgot. I mean if I were to open a pack on Zendikar and open a Lotus Cobra I'd be tickled pink. I'd also be shocked as well to see someone or even myself open that Beta Pearl.

The judge just sounds likea stone idiot. He's probably the lowest level judge or just some dumb TO who doesn't know the rules. Again...very possible and not shocking, I've seen worse.

I call BS unless the OP wants to clarify the total number of drafters. Theres no way 3 mythic foils would be opened by 20 people doing a zen-zen-zen draft.

I call BS since the OP is a shady dude. Check out the "Danibal" BTA case and how he bailed on a trade the moment I insisted he send first.
