Okay, so Im a total newb at MTG. I played a little in grade 6... and im 22 now, so roughly 10 years ago. Is there a site, or a link or some basic information I can get?The kind of information I am looking for: 1. The different deck names, how old they are, what their advantages are of another 2. Card values/appraisals/are you allowed to use toploaders? 3. How to build a "good deck" Thanks nerds... I mean guys :P hehe

check out deck databases on strategy sites, such as www.starcitygames.comYou can also check the forums on places like mtgsalvation.com (Most of the posters on there can be a little bad, but I'll give them credit for keeping things pretty organized in the deck help section) Keep in mind, decks change all the time due to the rotation of sets in and out of formats. For example, Standard (T2) and Extended are in the midst of changing right now with the release of the new block. As for card values, the guide on this site is pretty good. Unsure by what you mean about toploaders. How to build a good deck just depends on how you plan to play. If you want to be competitive, look at lists that won big events. If you're playing casual...pretty much anything goes. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!

I know what toploaders are, I'm just unsure why you wouldn't be allowed to use them. I mean, if you're planning to trade on this site, I would most certainly use them for shipping cards. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!

... or do you mean that you want to SLEEVE YOUR DECK in toploaders? That would be epic... but I think you'd have difficulties shuffling! ;P(Hmmm... I wonder if that's legal! lol)

a guy at a tourny did that. 60 cards in toploaders. It was funny the first 10 seconds, then watching him shuffle was pretty annoying. specially when I had to face him in the finals?!?!

I've heard of vintage players doing that. I just can't imagine it possible to sufficiently shuffle that.

It's not, unless they are built like a viking and have fingers like sausages. Turns a 15 minute game into a 30+ minute game... very annoying, proxy the stuff up, I don't care if you don't even own the cards, just don't waste so much time so we can actually play the game instead of watching toploaders drop all over the place while attempting to shuffle..
