I've found the secret to my wife tolerating my card hoarding is to keep everything contained in one room in the basement that she pretty much never goes in. Out of sight, out of mind. She used to get pretty annoyed by it when I'd take over sections of the living room for a few days at a time.

Few people want to buy cards for "what they are worth." They want a good deal so they can turn a profit. Offering 25-50% of their "buy it now" value though is a little insane though and obviously deserves ridicule on a community site.

That's a real insult to internet stores. I'm certain that StarCityGames and ChannelFireball and Troll&Toad, etc. are all offering more than what he is.

He could raise all his prices by 50% and he'd still be ripping people off. Raising his prices by 100% makes some cards reasonable, a few he's overpaying (Jace TMS goes to $90 if we double his original price), and there would STILL be some cards that are horribly low.

Raising by 100% (doubling all his prices) would still mean he's buying

BB Birds of Paradise: $1
Frost Titan: $2
Gideon Jura: $8
Wasteland: $8
Lotus Cobra: $8
Grim Monolith: $6

Close to EvT abundance. Like the Sliver deck, it will likely only be in game stores...but quantities won't be as limited as the FTV sets.

EDIT: In other words...unless you need it right away, you can afford to wait 6 months and probably pick it up under MSRP.
