Help me out: how do you know it 100% sure to be fake?- Yes, I realize the seller has 0 feedback - Yes, the picture is totally crap Sure, if I know what this card is worth, I would not put it up like that, and as a buyer, I wouldn't touch this one, but still...

eBay should have a rule that photos have to be in focus. I wouldn't risk $1K on a blurry, 99.99% fake picture.

Can't see it getting to that price because no one will actually bid on it cause it's probably fake. That said, you'd only have to be willing to risk thirty or fifty bucks. The $100 shipping isn't helping my opinion of this item, either.

Is it me, or are the borders too "thick"?

Picture looks too much like it would be from unlimited but unlimited did not have any misprinted or off colored cards. You can clearly tell that its not a summer magic hurricane.

I got him to send scans. It's a pretty good one. Back appears real. Front doesn't have the print patterns. Prob fake. http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/yy73/Slinga/bluehurricanefrontscan.jpg http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/yy73/Slinga/bluehurricanebackscan.jpg__________________ Ebay problems? on the white border of that scan... that whole right top corner looks bad. Seems water damage, which is a typical sign of glue. However I'm at a slight loss to figure out how glue has entered this process. Its not like there are CE summer cards you can reback.

Could've been printed on a real card, either a filler or a sanded-down card. Peeled foil I find less likely since the back looks older.__________________ Ebay problems? File a claim, leave a neg, buy on MOTL.

The scans he sent don't even seem to be of the same card pictured in the auction. Look at the top left corner, and the bottom right corner of the picture in the auction. The white boreder is much thicker then on the scan he sent.

The front scan also has no background showing, even at the corners, where as the back does.

was my thoughts on how I'd go about making this, however I keep getting polite warnings when I talk about potential processes for making proxies >< It does explain the odd "cut" on the front of the card that isn't seen on the back. Maybe what I'm seeing as water damage is more like worn paper from a sanding processes. I guess if you didn't clean it up enough after that could potentially look bad. Wish there was higher res scans, or I could see it in person.

I put the two scans side by side and the white border is thick in the blurry scan, and thinner in the clearer scan.I wouldn't touch it myself. __________________ "Poole" Art Sage Owl count: 227 with 74 Signed and 6 Proofs Also trading for:Extinctions and IA/CS STP's Non Magic: Civillization (SNES), Old Hot Wheels Cars, Stargate SG1/SGA Figurines

When a "fake" gets reported doesn't the item get dropped from auction?

It almost looks as if he used the scan of the Hurricane from ABU

The scans he sent don't seem to be fake, to be honest. Can still see ink clusters on the front, especially where the card is darker. The scan is too dark and not high enough res to tell, though. Added a picture of my hurricane as a comparison:http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff281/twol84/?action=view¤t=SummerHurricane-2.jpg It's his actual photograph that sets the alarm bells ringing.

Exactly. I think the general concensus is that the scan he sent is probably of a legit card, and quite possibly the borrowed image he used to print the fake that's in his photo.
