Back in the day, we would take a foil card, and remove the foil using a Q-tip and finger nail polish remover. As I remembered last night this is not a very effective method. I am putting a "Research/Development" foil in my cube, the "research" 1/2 I don't want to use. So I was going to remove it by removing the foil and leaving a shiny black 1/2. I want the border left alone, and after trying blue painters tape, and fingernail polish remover.... lets just say i need a new method. Any suggestions?

Perhaps a really good printer and some know-how would work. Erase the half you don't want and then print over it black?

When you remove the foil from a card, it leaves a silver, shiny kinda thing. I guess I want to remove the art and the txt and leave the foil part behind. No trying to be rube AG, but I don't think you quite understand what I'm looking for, and maybe i didn't explain it well, but somehere knows what I'm talking about. Look HERE for what I'm after I emailed this guy, and he replied that with hundreds of hours and Thousands of Dollars to get this right, he is not going to give his trade secret away.

tape and acetone, actual acetone, not nail polish remover with acetone, but real acetone. It works take a bit of work but it definitely does. I think the mega discount store we are love to hate has a pint for $4. Trag3dy

Ive done this myself, and ill just echo what tragedy said : Real Acetone, the nail polish remover is probably watered down, and might have some artificial dye/scent in it or whatever. It's very cheap, and a bottle will last you a long time. It does take some work, but that's the only way i've ever heard of doing it.

If you use Acetone, which you should, it is much easier to use Scars of Mirrodin foils because the ink comes off extremely easy.

I'd use the eraser method if I were you, acetone only has very limited effectiveness on rav foils. If you do anthing newer than lorwyn acetone will strip it right off but the foiling process used is very resistant to acetone frome kamagawa-lorwyn.

Those who have said Acetone are correct.__________________ There is a difference between you and me. We both looked into the abyss. But when it looked back at us...you blinked.
