If money is of concern, Kuldotha Red.If money is of no concern... well, let's wait and see how Tezzeret plays out in standard. Juza's deck might become the DTB. __________________ (Humans) are stubborn, self-destructive conformists. Any other view of our species is just self-congratulatory delusion. That blue/white stoneforge build is the real deal. Blue/black control is well rounded too, but it is a dog to the stoneforge control deck.

I was playing UB tezzeret for the last two weeks and I got molested by metagame decks. R/W blow your artifacts up will just destroy you. It was down right unfun for me. I had either turn three Jace or Tezzeret and could never keep any artifacts on the board. It was so bad the two opponents brought in Into The Core. BSZ worked but only slowed them down, because you can't keep an artifact on the board.I know the R/w deck is a joke and shouldn't be able to beat most other decks in the format. But it is a deck that will rock artifact heavy decks.

...and that's about it. Unless your meta is janky metalcraft and UB tezz variants, you can pretty much ignore rmac's post.

I like Boros. It has game winnign draws that no deck can deal with and is really fun to play with. But then again I have always been a fan of argo.

boros and gob/kuldotha red can deal heavy damages very fast but 1 pyroclasm/slagstorm or some gain life(obstinate baloth or else) and it is donei still prefer valakut: ok lots of hate against it, but is your oponent cant deal them, he gets a one way ticket the moon

Isn't this true for all decks? You can't deal with their threats, and you lose. __________________ [12:06] <juni> the guy is ridiculously hard. [12:06] <juni> game* [12:06] <Malroth> ._. [12:07] <Malroth> worst... [12:07] <Malroth> typo... [12:07] <Malroth> ever... [12:07] <juni> :/

Then your deck must not have enough artifacts as I have no problems getting/keeping artifacts with my Tezz infect deck. ~MM

The general concensus seems to be UW mystic is the best deck. With Valakut and boros as other tier 1 contenders. Tezzeret, Vampires, UB and Kuldotha red as competitive but not tier one atm. I played Chapin's tezzeret list with some modifications to the top of FNM last week, beating 2 UW mystics on the way. If my opponent wants to spend mana killing my prophetic prisms I guess i could live with it...

If money isn't an issue, then Caw-Blade is your deck. Has a solid match-up against Valakut, and owns UB builds. The match-up against Boros isn't supposed to be favorable, but there were 9 Caw-Blades in the SCG DC top 16 yesterday in a field filled with both builds.

Are there any Tier 1 T2 decks that don't require buying multiple playsets of $50 cards?

I think GW Quest is cheapest since it only have 4 Stoneforge and 4 Vengevine as the big money cards. Boros requires 10-11 fetchlands, plus 4 Mystic. And Koth in the board.

Ww quest is the budget deck out there. Needs 8 fetches, 3 stoneforge mystics, and two swords. Besides that, its all un/coplay and a couple dollar rares. Its not tier 1 though. I picked it up myself for fnms getting back into the game, and its pretty fun and easy to play. Pulls down enough wins for me to be happy with a budget deck.

Pretty sure CawBlade only needs one playset of jaces, and then everything else is $20 or less. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for?
