You're right, sort of. The rules don't allow Workshop to ever be banned, however, it WAS banned in the last iteration of V4CB. You can see my reasoning in full HERE and HERE. In a nutshell: When I didn't ban it, it totally dominated the format like Affinity to the point where there were decks with Workshop that won, decks that beat Workshop decks but lost to everything else, and decks that beat the decks that beat Workshop, but lost to Workshop decks. With more cards in your "deck" than ever, there's more chances to exploit the two turn jump you get on your opponents. Right now, it's not so broken with tons of artifact mana, especially Black Lotus, still legal, but down the road, getting access to 6 mana on turn 2 just outclasses so many other decks out there. City of Traitors and Ancient Tomb have proved to be less problematic, so I've left those alone.

I expected some FoW's, but not like that. Insta-lose to anything packing free counters. Insta-lose to anything that Leylines and wins on me upkeep. Insta-lose to, well... just about everything except.code:

hehe I actually only started with the 4-card tournament last time. Had I known about this thing earlier, I would have gotten addicted much sooner! Where else can you play with 3 Black Lotus in the same deck? Heck, I don't even own ONE, so it's fun to build decks and "compete" with cards I'll never have. On a side note, I've now got a deck that would have scored 96 points this round... Bad metagame call on my part! On another side note, I like the idea of prizes. I'll volunteer for prize support some round. Maybe round 5 or 7 or something? That way, people have to play rounds 2-4 or 2-6 to get the hang of it and do well in 5 or 7 :-)

Alexisonfyre doesn't seem to be in a position to win the first, second, or last prizes. As far as prizes go, I'm making myself ineligible in case that wasn't clear. First place after me is WCFmo who has already requested the Eternal Witness instead of the Lightning Greaves. Second place after that is between Magic1264, Carbon, s14sh3r, and Myy. I'm going to randomly distribute a Foil FNM Fire//Ice, Murderous Redcap, Terminate, and Flametongue Kavu between the four of them. AGO gets the Bloodbraid Elf for being last (conspiracy theorists/triskaidekaphobic note that he was #13 and only could earn 13 points). Thanks to random.org, Scotty Styles gets the random prize. I will officially start round 2 Monday morning or when Alexisonfyre submits his scores, whichever comes first.
