Hey everybody! I plan to complete the set of 20 basic artworks for Zendikar. I'll update as I complete more and more.See them here on photobucket. Note: I do not currently commission any work. I'm new to this and am afraid I'd disappoint people if I tried altering different cards. If in the future I do decide to commission, I'll be sure to let you all know. Thanks for the support.

OMG You have got to trade or sell me the Jesus Christ Swords to Plowshares! Lol. Most of them are pretty good but you do have some where you can notice the difference between the paint and picture.

They look great but I think you should try to leave the card name and type visable.. that way they are still technically legal. But if your just doing them for yourself then I guess it doesnt matter.

Love it! How much time are each of those taking? I don't have much for an artistry, but I've been considering doing some alterations, playing around with it a bit... especially for my EDH deck.quote: Originally posted by Timmyhill: They look great but I think you should try to leave the card name and type visable.. that way they are still technically legal. I think the rule is that in order to be legal, the ART couldn't be changed dramatically so that it was no longer recognizable. i.e. the Grim Reaper StP wouldn't be legal, since that's anything but the original artwork, however the Jesus StP might be since the art is pretty close to the original. That said, leaving the name & casting cost on there does make the card seem a lot more official, and I think it's cleaner.

Here is an alteration guide. In the end it is really up to the head judge at the tournament to say wether or not the card is legal.

Most artists will charge $100+ for an alter. The better artists charge some crazy prices but the alter is also better to. If the alter is done by someone who isint the orginal artist its normally $5-10 depending on the card and the extent of the alter.

depending on the artisat it normally ranges from $5-30. usually it depends on how big of a project it is. generally classic border extentions cost much les than completely new art. also, veterans tend to charge more since they have higher quality work, vs many newer artist(like me) tend to change towad the lower end of the spectrum. normally you can look at ebay results for alters to get a general idea of what the pricing is althoughits not always acurate. technically altering is a grey zone as far as copyright stuff with wizards goes, but so far they haven't said anything much against it, and some writers have endorced it. also, its written into the rules cards can't have markings on them aside from "artistic modifications" under which alters would fall to.
