Howdy this is a question i had on my mind for a week now. I'm about to put up a whole set of MBS for auction or maybe a trade of equal value. i was wondering how do people sell sets in? I mean do they put it a a white box with penny sleeves and ship off or do they put it in a binder with sleeves and pages then ship it out or what? Or should i let the buyer decide. Say like im selling it for 220 (with shipping) for a binder and the pages or 200(with shipping) in a long box with sleeves? I'm just wondering if that's the best way to do it or what? Who ever can help me out on this it would greatly appreciated.

I'd say that fitting the set (sleeves not needed) into a hard cardboard box that is just right would be the best. A lot of sets I see being sold on ebay are factory sealed by Wizards so packaging is not a concern.

ask your buyer if they have a pref method to send in or penny sleeves is a good idea since there cheap or use a hard cardboard box and put something in there to prevent the cards from moving.. like styofoam or something

When I sell sets, I put the cards into those cardboard boxes normally used by players to store decks. I pack the cards tightly together (if they are loose, they will shift during shipping and may damage their corners by 'banging' against the box walls), and try to put some sleeve cushioning at the top. Then I tape the box using some transparent tape. This method works well most of the time. The only problem is that the box may knock into something during shipping, and parts of the cards in that portion may have their corners dented a bit. You can avoid the above problem by putting the original box into a bigger box, and fill up the bigger box with foam packaging. This way, any damage will be absorbed by the bigger box, with the original box protected.

I use team bags and put about 30-40 cards per bag. I also put them in a storage box and put some peanuts/padding around the cards. This usually prevents any damage, unless of course somebody drops something on the box that is heavy. That is why there is insurance. Shipping binder pages is cost prohibitive. Good luck...Greg

the best way i've found to ship them is to buy some packs of penny sleeves and put the cards 10 to a sleeve then ship them in a 250ct box with padding inside. It prevents cards from getting moved around like in team bags and actually costs less too.

As someone that specializes in Wholesale Magic collection sales, considering shipping costs and the amount of cards in the set, I would suggest getting something along the lines of 1-2 500-count row boxes (depending on whether this is 1 of each card or 4 of each card) and fill these with the set of cards. Then, if you live in the United States, I would take both of these and put them into the Medium Flat-Rate Priority Mail garment-size box and line the empty space with crumpled up newspaper. This should cost about $11.00 if you pay for shipping on pay pal + factor in the cost of each row box being about $1.00, while getting you priority mail with free delivery confirmation, which is a great safety feature to use when selling online. This way will save you a ton of work in packaging your cards and also money in shipping costs.__________________ #2 in References in VAOfficial Magic Dealer for Fun-N-Games in Blacksburg, VA Fun-N-Games Facebook Page (Coupons, Magic events, & more!) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fun-N-Games-Hobby-Shoppe/159286730773676 Live in WV, Blacksburg or Roanoke, VA?
