6. Magic1264 - WD I think. On the play, I play out my hand, and since random effects go against me, he gets to keep city and ratchet bomb. Bomb goes to (1), then it's my turn. I swing 4 (16). ratchet (2). (W12).(R3).(W8).(R4).(W4).(R5).(W0). On the draw, he gets bomb out a turn faster, so it kills the wurm when he is at 4.

To clarify:
D - Play out Hand.
M - play city, cast ratchet, t: put a counter on, (1).
D - Wurm swings to 16.
M - 2 counters on bomb
D - Wurm swings to 12
M - 3 counters on bomb
D - Wurm swings to 8
M - 4 counters on bomb
D - Wurm swings to 4
M - 5 counters on bomb, but cant sac because tapping is part of the cost, and he tapped on each of his turns to put the counter on, so ratchet bomb is tapped with 5 counters on it.
D - Wurm swings in for the win.

On his play (my draw), there's no reason for him to play out form of the dragon, because of my white leyline, and it would actually kill him since the 5 damage is not a you may ability, and it needs to find a target, so he becomes the target. So he plays ratchet bomb and puts a counter on it.
Same thing as before, except his bomb is a turn faster and he activates it to kill the wurm while he is at 4 life. 4

on the play i cast the golem. then he can cast PtE on it. i get my other creatures and pump ravager. he suspends durkwood baloth. i hit for 5 each turn for 4 turns before baloth enters.
on the draw he casts inquiry and suspends the baloth and i can't stop it with a 2/2 ravager.

LemonMeringue's is almost mise...

If he casts thorn... then he can on his next turn tap city to add 2, then play taiga to add green, sacing city obv, to play the scavenger. Then he puts city on bottom of his library, draws and plays city, but cant cast rage, so he swings with scavenger for 3 putting you at 17, you still cant cast crypts. On his turn he has to sac scavenger, because he has nothing in his yard, so the two of you stare.

Basically LemonMeringue tries to draw with thorn, or win with a 3/3 for 2, but I think he realized his mistake after submitting anyway.

Bottom line- you WD against LemonMeringue

Here, you're correct but your reasoning is incorrect. If you just cast golem, he can play crypt and vault on his turn, then the next turn he has 7 for hive mind. You could however, just cast revoker naming either mana crypt or mana vault. To stop it, so you still get the win on the play, just not the way you said it.

Wait... damn ferret for probably winning this week. My tech involved mana crpyt....

edit 2: also forgot this line: * Random effects always go against the owner of the card.*

So my sick tech wouldn't have been so sick. Tolarian academy is also gonna be banned which was another part of the combo... ho hum... I guess I'll wait and hope he doesn't win, else I'll reveal my somewhat not so sick tech on monday.

We now have 5 cards, and the 5th card could possibly make shahrazad playable (though I am not currently sure how). Does this make it usable?

Epoc can stop the Wurm. When it comes back, it's a 4/4. Unfortunately, you have Leyline so Helix doesn't do much against you... On the play even, if I cast Scepter + Helix, then Inquiry wins for you, so I have to play Epoc for the draw. It's DD

If you find a way to play Shahrazad and win with it, then I will allow it, but you are not allowed to submit a deck with Shahrazad that cannot beat Island x5 and you can expect a lengthy discussion with me via PM if you do decide to play such a deck before I accept it as a legal entry.

Here's how you can use a VERY BAD deck to use Shahrazad and complete a legal subgame that can beat the deck Island x5:

Shahrazad
Fountain of Cho

You play Fountain of Cho, play Ashnod's Altar and Soldevi Digger, then play Memnite, sacrifice it to Ashnod's Altar, use the mana to return it to your library with Soldevi Digger, then you play Shahrazad.

In the subgame, you play Memnite, attack 20 times and win. This puts your opponent at 10 life in the main game. You use Soldevi Digger to return Shahrazad to your library and play Memnite, sacrifice it to Ashnod's Altar, use the mana to return it to your libary with Soldevi Digger, then play Shahrazad.

You repeat this again, putting your opponent at 5, then 2, then 1, then 0 life.
