Hey guys, got a few questions for ya. I play my cards in sleeves and with care, but they inevitably seem to accumulate these small smudges, not only near the top of the card, but all the way down past the middle. They're noticable on the black borders, but not really anywhere else until you hold the card under light. I'm wondering:

A. Does this happen to any of you?

B. What can I do to prevent this?

C. What is the best method to clean the cards, if any?

D. How much does it affect the condition rating? I've never really seen people consider it a factor, but it seems like it would be one.

Sorry I don't have a pic, hopefully someone knows what I mean. Thanks in advance.

A: Yup
B: Double Sleeving
C: Tissue + a bit of water. Just don't overdo the edges, since they'll absorb the water.
D: As it's cleanable, not that much IMO. If it's an issue, I clean the card.

I use diluted Isopropyl Alcohol and a Q-tip, but double sleeving will preemptivly stop the problem.

Cool, thanks guys. When you say double sleeve, would that be penny sleeves inside regular ones?

Put the card in a "perfect fit" sleeve and then put inside a regular one. Penny sleeves are too big.

Also worth noting with perfect fits, put the card in the smaller sleeve upside down. Then put it in the larger sleeve normally. You will have to kind of squeeze the air out of them.

Does the 'little' water trick work on foils too? I have some foils and I'm sure they are NM, minus what seem to be some dirt wear.

I tested it recently, and it seems to work well. Except of course if the stuff on it is purely scratches.
