What Commons\Uncommons are "hot" right now?

SilentHill Member	posted May 11, 2011 09:21 AM Hello, I was referred to this forum for my question so here it is. I'm not sure if this is in the right place but I figure i would give it a shot. I quit playing MTG years ago, but I have a lot of the stuff that is "hot" right now. I Played from Ice Age to Apocalypse and I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice as to what commons/uncommons are "hot" from this block? My cousin helped me out a little bit he said Priest of Titania were selling for $3/$4 a piece on eBay. I have like 15 of them. (I bought a lot of the urza's block. Have the entire set of Saga) I know brainwash is worth a couple bucks a piece too and probably voltic key. Any other cards that were once considered junk rares or commons / uncommons I might have lying around that I could probably sell? Also is there a better place to sell cards than eBay? Thanks! Brujah-99 Member	posted May 11, 2011 09:30 AM Your best place to sell stuff is this board. Just be sure to use tracking when you send your packages. It also helps if you sell to people with a decent number of refs. To answer your other question the best card to be looking for in your collection is wasteland from tempest. It's a $50+ card now.
flophaus Member	posted May 11, 2011 09:39 AM Welcome to the site =) My advice to you would be to check eBay completed auctions... entering each set name that you have, then just search by "price + shipping = highest first" Assumming you know what cards you have, I think you would get a pretty good idea. But, make sure you check to see if you have any Force of Will's from Alliances first =) Uncommon worth a pretty penny these days! I guess the bottom line is: You're gonna have to spend some time doing research. Hope this helped at least a little.
yoriagami Member	posted May 11, 2011 09:41 AM A few from my head: Force of Will Reanimate Wasteland Lotus Petal Perish Priest of Titania the Mirage Tutors (Mystical and Enlightened mostly) Tinker Fact or Fiction some value in eternal cards like Pyroblast, Dark Ritual, Brainstorm, Rancor, Contagion, Gush etc., maybe those 0-cost artifacts from Alliances and Visions ??? CubFan81 Member	posted May 11, 2011 10:41 AM Another way to see what you might have would be to use blacklotusproject.com. You can search for a card you know is from a set you have (ie: Swords to Plowshares from Ice Age) and just above the graph that shows up click on the link for the set. It will take you to a list of the most valuable cards and most popular cards. For some sets (like Ice Age) you can skip the valuable section because it can be highly variable and not very accurate. The most popular section though should tell you which cards people are looking for and should be easier to move. You can then dig through to find if you've got any of the ones listed that sell for more than a buck or two (or whatever your cut off is for your time) and pull them out.

Saga block has a number of really great cards in it that sell/trade high...Gaea's Cradle, Tolarian Academy, etc. One of the 'hot' uncommons from that block is Goblin Lackey which I belive is going for around $9-$10, though it's been a while since I checked prices on it.

I do have some nice cards that I knew were worth money. 4x Mint Force of Will Foil DCI wasteland Foil DCI Gaea's Cradle Unlimited Black Lotus etc, etc, etc I was more concerned about the commons & uncommons that are worth $2-$10 a piece that are scattered throughout my collection. I was blown away that priest of titania a common from Urza's Saga is worth $3-$4 a piece.
LemonMeringue Member	posted May 11, 2011 02:03 PM You could always view a set in tcgplayer.com and sort the cards from highest price to lower, it will give you a general idea, although pricing is sometimes off. Good luck selling!
Numotflame96 Member	posted May 11, 2011 05:17 PM there was an article a long while back i saw, i'm pretty sure on quiet speculation about high value common/uncommons. they redid the sitee earlier this year so i'm not sure how difficult it will be to find in their archives

Do people generally trade P9 for the current "hot" cards? (i'm not just taking uncommons/commons) Or am I better off selling for Cash and trying to buy P9 if I want some.
