None of the major alterers I have dealt with charge that little. I think Yawg starts at $25 for basic stuff, Cardkitty won't even look at you for less than $30, and Klug is fairly expensive also if I remember correctly. Who is Budget? Those seem nice and I might want to give him/her more business

He prefers to deal on eBay for some reason, so you can message him here: http://myworld.ebay.ca/budget_mtg?ssPageName=ADME:X:CEM:CA:1181

The only reason I alter cards is because I can't get them in foil. It's not because I don't like the art of the original artist, but more of a requirement due to WOTC's Reserved List for some cards. Edit: In addition, some artists actually appreciate when other people alter their work; I know I picked up a artist-signed Altered Mana Crypt from yawg last weekend at Cincy.

I want four copies of Dark Heart of the Wood's Ravnica art where the purple orb has been replaced by a standard deck of cards heart/club/spade/diamond and a local guy who does alters is planning to do that for me for a couple bucks in cards, since it will take all of 5 minutes each.Cardkitty quoted me 30 bucks each.

Yawg was at Cincy. He has some sexy stuff, including a Black/White Sol Ring that I would love to have, but is apparently $100+ on Ebay. *sigh*

The reason I'm getting some cards extended is for my cube. If the card doesn't come in foil, or isn't old enough to be cool, I'm getting it extended.

The irony: He was asking 75 at Cincy for that Ring, and he threw it up on EBay because nobody wanted it.

Good for him! Alters can be so hit or miss. It just depends on how much a particular person wants a card.

Yeah it's actually really crazy. A while ago, when I did alters more frequently, I sold these on auction on eBay for about 50 and about 100

I Like Laura's and Cardkitty's stuff.I'm not gonna lie, I laughed when I saw Hannah's Angry Birds Squadron Hawks. Her Mox Diamond Planets are sick. (I like more simple alterations, not necessarily the whole card ones). I So wish I could do this ****. I would do it for my entire EDH deck. I have a pretty sweet life counter from AGO. He took a bunch of Rising Waters cards and used an exacto knife to give it depth. Put a FOIL island on bottom for the bottom raindrop frame, and added an abbacus to it. Top card is the edging of an Unglued silver border. It's pretty sick. I always get comments about it. Wish I had a picture. Yawg is sick. His Shattering Spree is AWESOME http://s96.photobucket.com/albums/l189/yawg07/eBayMTGART/?action=view¤t=APR09_Spree.jpg __________________ -Schmitty 7th in Refs [191] in OH-IO (Catching up to jmedina) 2nd in Posts [5763] in OH-IO (Have a long way to go to catch Val) “If Brad Stevens is the future of coaching in college basketball, the sport is in a good place.” - Rick Pitino

if you're looking for cheap laters, if you just scroll through a few pages on the mtgs altered art thread and look for lesser known artists that say they alter cards, it tends to be between $5-15 rather than $30-50. theres quite a few talented folks on the thread that can easily do nice alters but just don't have the fame to change alot for alters. the only reason yawg, klug, cardkitty(there are plenty more i can think of just these are the ones mensioned most in this thread) can charge so much is that they are well known and in demand.

I really dig that brassman one, AGO.Looking at that one makes me want to have an artifact one with a gold bolder. I'll hit you up when I decide what card I want haha. That is, if you would be willing to do another for me. PM me if you don't mind. __________________ -Schmitty 7th in Refs [191] in OH-IO (Catching up to jmedina) 2nd in Posts [5763] in OH-IO (Have a long way to go to catch Val) “If Brad Stevens is the future of coaching in college basketball, the sport is in a good place.” - Rick Pitino

I shed a tear every time I look at that counter. One of the few ones I will never trade. I am in the process of doing a blue elemental and red elemental blast set. I also got a Autumn willow and black vise on the back burner.

When you say recently, you mean post-Cincy? Because I know he charged me $35 ea at Cincy for my Extended borders. I know he charges more for full alters but I don't know the exact price.

Yeah, he used to be $25. He said at Cincy he up'd his price because of all the demand. So I'm looking for cheaper options now

Forgot to mention.I also have a Morphling Print and a Piracy Charm print. Love the art of those two cards. Not to mention, I talked with RK Post at the TSP Prerelease, and he made Morphling before the technology to mirror image cards on the computer was widespread. Drew each side by hand. That's a man.
