I have about depleted my trade binder finishing legacy decks. I plan on selling the rest and try to start from scratch since most of it is junk rares. Was wondering what would be the best way.Should I just buy a bunch of boxes? -M12 or wait for the next block? Should I try to buy someone elses collection? Shold I buy a piece of power and trade it down for a bunch of stuff?

Why not just buy singles for the decks you'll need in the future? If you're hellbent on getting stuff to trade, just do a lot of drafts and/or sealed. Spending $90-120 on a box to get $30-70 in trade value is a terrible idea.__________________ send ref checks, paypal payment or any questions to the email in my profile! if you need specific cards, buy them.if you need to trade, buy a collection. I personally hate both trading and selling cards.
and i have loads of tradeable stuff. im sure there are many like me that would like to sell their extra cards.

I think that I would just focus on purchasing singles that I'm looking for and using my newly created decks to win packs/store credit locally (assuming that you have a local Legacy scene). Drafting and Sealed are also good options. If you plan on playing Standard, though, then I guess that's another story entirely.__________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. Buy singles that you want. Take advantage of good trades when they come along. Just buying stuff to have it available for trade seems pointless to me. I'd rather just cut out the middle man and buy stuff I want.

if you really want to trade id buy a collection. its far better value than opening boxes imo.

If you are a great trader, you could turn your leftover junk rares into decent trading cards. If you are an average trader who doesn't want to mess with junk rares, best bet is to cash out of junk rares and buy singles. If you enjoy trading, but only do high value deals, you should consider updating your older decks and restocking the trade binder that way. If you don't mind sorting cards, buying a collection *is* the best way to create a new trade binder, especially if your intent is to flip collections for profit. But I don't believe you should ever buy cards with the intent to only create trade bait... it's a waste of time and money. You should either switch into buying singles or play limited a lot once you have exhausted all your extras. If you love the game, you'll always be getting more cards.

Well my intent is to get a larger collection without spending a fortune so I can build more decks. I might try to buy collections and take out the cards I want then sell them to buy more collections. Mix that will playing in tournaments to build up on newer cards. Thanks for the input.

Buying collections is probably the most cost-efficient way to get more good stuff. They're cheaper than buying singles (or at least they should be--if they're not, you're probably overpaying for the collection) and much better than buying boxes (the only real reason to buy a box, imo, is for the joy of opening packs, or to draft or something of that sort). It's obviously not the most direct path to getting any particular cards, but it doesn't sound like you're trying to get specific stuffs at the moment.

Looking at your 1st post and this post, my conclusion is you want a value-for-money way to rebulid your collection. You got the answer --> buying collection and singles (if you need it badly)
