Goaswerfraiejen, My next non-Magic goal in life is to tell some woman she looks like she got "hit with a beauty stick". Back on topic... When I play EDH on the dining table, we usually just use D20's (2 D20's = 40 life). In any level of tournament, even an FNM, I've seen far too many dice get knocked over and pen and paper has help me win more than a few disputes over life totals, even when the other guy is supposedly keeping track as well. I'll usually do this: 20 19 - ST 17 - GG 14 - SB 10 - GG, CP 8 - SS 6 - SS 0 - Shrine My opponent started at 20 life, took 1 from a Scalding Tarn, 2 from a Goblin Guide, 3 from a Searing Blaze, 4 from a Goblin Guide and a Chandra's Phoenix, 2 from a Staggershock, 2 more from the same Staggershock when it rebounded and 6 from a Shrine of Burning Rage. It's VERY important that I have his life totals absolutely correct, so I don't think I've done exactly lethal and actually have fallen one short. I've had to do the full game replay a few times because my opponent will THINK he's at 3 life, I'll be able to go back and point out that he didn't count the Searing Blaze, which killed his would-be blocker. That's why now I usually confirm every life total change. "I play Searing Blaze on your Lotus Cobra, so that puts you at 14." "Yes." "Then, on my turn I'll cast Chandra's Phoenix and I'll attack you with both, putting you at 10." "Okay. My turn?" __________________ There are two rules for success: 1. Don't tell all you know.

Mine is sort of like tiered based on what's near me.Pen and paper on the table, use that. If no pen and paper, grab some dice. If no dice, use my sideboard to count my life total. Horizontal cards are 5, verticals are 1. This usually prompts my opponent to keep track of my life for me, because there's a lot of head scratching involved.

I like them a lot, but the ones you sell on etsy are not very good compared to the ones on your Dart page

I've lost all respect for anyone who thinks my counter looks nice. Unless of course they were being sarcastic, in which case they're still cool. My counter looks nasty. But it's sure functional. It has two wheels so I can track my opponent's life too - they both go up to about 25. Not bad considering I was kinda drunk when I made it. Surfing online I see a lot of different ones: Kamahl ultrapro WOTC Molten masticore Plastic box thing snake chick I'm not sure I even understand this one foil elvish visionary JMS Duelist Don't know what this is but it looks cool P.S. AGO - I love your work! __________________ Bid on my volcanic island with cheap new cards! |My Angels~My P9 l""|"\__, |~~My #1 Angel~~l'_|'_|_|) |(@)(@)""***|(@)(@)**|(@)

We just play casually among ourselves so no problem there. Its good to know that using an App to record scores could be illegal.

It sure seems very simialr to what it isI'm not sure I even understand this one: You have to put that one together, heh. Some assembly required and such. Duelist: My favorite, minus the color. Old style duelist abacus Don't know what this is but it looks cool: Cthulhu

I don't play any more, but when I did I had a nice choice of which counter I wanted. See the bottom of this page and the top of the following page in this thread:http://www.magiclibrarities.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6950&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=60

For EDH and casual: Flying Tricyle Double Life Counter http://tinyurl.com/3qd5ur5 I generally will use the mana symbol(S) corresponding with the color of my commander. For real games, I use a ManaWerx Life Counting pads I got in 2005 or one of the 200 pads magicarsenal.com sent me back in the day.
