Two friends gave me their collections to sell on MOTL, but the Weekly Price Guide has been down for a few months now, and the regular price guide is basically useless for hot cards (i.e. Blazing Shoal for $0.26 before it was banned). Is there another useful price guide similar to the MOTL Weekly out there? I heard Apathy House has a price guide, but I didn't know how good it was, or if it was more like the regular MOTL Guide or the weekly MOTL Guide. Thanks! Apathy House is not any better. For example, it still has Birthing Pod at under $4.For hot cards, you can always just look at ebay completed listing for the past week and try to average them out on your own. It's probably the best option. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

I generally use TCGPlayer (low end) for evaluations.__________________ There is a difference between you and me. We both looked into the abyss. But when it looked back at us...you blinked.

From what I can tell, Apathy House gets its values the same way MOTL does. I've been using it a lot recently, and it's decent, but for cards I'm unsure about I usually double-check on ebay. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. Just use the standard MOTL price guide. If you know the price is going to be off on a card, then check out ebay. Doesn't seem that hard unless you're not in touch w/ magic at all.

Well, looking at the standard MOTL price guide, it looks messed up, too. The N value is 1 for a ton of cards, which causes the data to be pretty useless. For example, Cabal Therapy is $2.30 in the guide but they are easily $4-$5 on ebay... Maybe the algorithm to scrape eBay isn't working or something, I'm not sure. I'm not sure which prices I can and can't trust, which makes it less than helpful. I know that it won't be right for hot cards, but if it can't get something like Cabal Therapy, then what can you trust it for? __________________ 3rd most references in Kentucky; 3rd most posts in KentuckyBlackborder.com Grading Guide

This usually works pretty well. Like others have said, ebay completed listings can't steer you wrong.
