I have looked I think it is. I am not a expert though. It passes the bend and water test. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260912124056&ssPageName=ADME:B:ONA:US:1120#ht_1959wt_922

Probably a fake given his language in the auction. It would be a lot easier to tell if he posted a high resolution scan.

70% sure it was real it is a little pixely NO REFUNDS This card is being sold as a proxy 1x Scrubland (Proxy or Beta??)With the way he has worded the auction it seems like a scam.

To summarize, it would behoove you to pass on this auction.

Looks real to me from the scans, but it could be fake. The thing is, a fake Beta Scrubland is likely to be Dark Beta, and it doesn't look like Dark Beta in the picture. The other possibility is rebacked CE, but he did bend-test it, and rebacked CE wouldn't look "a little pixelly."__________________ Looking for misprinted Commander decks. Got one? Talk to me.

I assume dark beta cards will pass the bend test, too?

or he could shoot a few pics of his real scrubland and mail you the fake. Theres a reason why people pay premiums to buy in person. besides, its just a scrubland.

I came across something similar to this about 6 years ago and I wouldn't be suprised if this card came from the same batch. The seller at the time had a bunch of different beta for sale and I had made an agreement with him to buy a Beta Sea for $25 to test its authenticity. It turned out to be a proxy... The two major red flags I noticed were:1. The roset pattern was blurry under under a 10x loupe. With the nake eye, this blurriness created a smearing look up close. Think of a really high quality Xerox... This alludes to the pixilation the seller refers to in my mind. 2. Although the card passed the bend test. I could tell the thickness of the card was slightly off, thinner. It seemed that someone had printed on the front and back of a piece cardboard instead of sticking two pieces of cardboard together. (Please note, I typically don't do bend tests on cards. Flex test to 45 degrees is sufficient for me. And water test is just a no no)
It's defintely a possiblity that these two issues apply to this particular card in the auction. All the signs are there. The picture that draws the most attention to me is the picture of the back of the two cards. Next to a normal printed Magic card, it is easier to notice smearing, light and dark spots (like a Xerox).

This sounds like Dark Beta to me. As for the card in the auction, he goes a little too far to prove its authenticity for me to trust it. Had he just posted a good scan of the front and back and called it beta, I probably wouldn't have questioned it. Overall, it seems fishy, and I'd pass if I were you.

The auction won't last, either way. It'll be pulled just because he said it may be fake.

My guess is the card you will get isn't the card you see being tested.
