hey guys.

So the PTQ is in edmonton on march 10. I am working on a modern deck right now (g/b/w) and need some ideas on enchantments that I can sacrifice to utilize tarmogoyf. color doesnt matter.

currently the decklist is as such (very incomplete, just listing what I have):

3 tarmogoyfs
2 knight of the reliquary
2 overgrown tomb
4 marsh flats
4 verdant catacombs
2 sensei's divining top
4 dark confidant
2 sword of fire and ice
2 sword of feast and famine
3 mishra's bauble

Looking to add (possibly, i usually get playsets of the cards that I am looking for bfore finalizing the deck:

4 kitchen finks
2 overgrown tomb
4 temple garden
4 godless shrine
1 tarmogoyf
2 knight of the reliquary
4 orim's chant
2 moments peace
4 oblivion ring
4 beast within
4 rampant growth (or cultivate or harrow)
Possibly some manlands (not sure which)

Any help with the deck construction/ideas would be appreciated, but as the topic implies:

Enchantments!

What would be good? what can get in my graveyard easily and have a nice effect?

thanks for the help in advance.

I think the typical enchantment that would hit the yard would be the seals. Seal of Doom likely your best option. Its not necessary to make goyf as big as possible tho. If hes a 3/4 or 4/5 thats good enough usually.

I like seal of Primordium/Cleansing better than Seal of Doom for enchantments. It takes out pieces of most of the combo decks (plus Jitte and Swords), and in a pinch, you can just sac it targetting itself and put it in the graveyard for the boost.

If you aren't going with the seals, some combination of Qasali Pridemages/Leonin Relic Warders is recommended.

I'd also play one Elspeth, Knight Errant main deck, and might consider a single Gaddock Teeg in main or some in the SB.

If you are going the Kitchen Finks route, consider the Melira combo option (sac outlet = infinite life). Your call there.

Neither Orims Chant or Moments Peace are legal in Modern.

Beyond that, i would suggest the Deck Help forum. Yea, we have one of those.

Dead Weight.

liliana of the veil (not an enchantment, but she gets enchants to yard! also a type you're not currently playing).

Also I'm pretty sure top is banned.

How about Sterling Grove?

And yes, we do have a deck help forum, perhaps this would be better there?

Thanks,
Jazaray

So im going to try running crystal ball since sensei's top is banned

Sterling grove so far is the number one pick for me. (dead weight was another great mention)

I appreciated all input given. I know there is a deck-help board, but it is rarely visited or commented on, and I needed help with the enchantments, not the deck. I was just open to deck suggestions.

thank you everyone.

don't worry about enchantments. Just run qasali pridemage and if he hits one he hits one. Goyf is good because he checks all graveyards not just your own. 1 more p/t isn't going to do anything and if it is that important pridemage has exalted.

Go with hand destruction and removal. Looks like you want to play a Junk deck so you got inquisition, duress, path, go for the throat, and stuff like that.

The B/W zombie that exiles a card in hand from Shards block is very good too. He doubles as an artifact creature as well for goyf.

It's fine here.

Seal of Doom is the best one. Dead Weight probably doesn't do enough, and doesn't kill big stuff.

Bound in Silence doesn't go into the graveyard. Might as well play Nameless Inversion or Crib Swap or something. There may be a rebel deck at some point in Modern, but that's probably the only deck that could think about playing Bound in Silence.
