No. Not anymore so than this set resembles 28 weeks later just with werewolves, vampires, angels, demons, and a vaguely colonial-era setting. Literally the only thing twilight has in common with innistrad is that both have creatures which are referred to as vampires or werewolves. Innistrad's vampires and werewolves draw (with varying degrees of consistency) from the classical tropes of each race throughout human history (in fact, Innistrad's vampires with their debauchery resemble the original Dracula more closely than most contemporary depictions); twilight's do not. __________________ It is a known fact that more Americans watch the television than any other appliance.

I gotta agree with the OP on this one. Dark Ascension is pretty underwhelming for me too. I think my opinion of it is largely because Sorin looks like a sucker bet. He's a cool guy, but I just don't see the OMG appeal to it, other than he's Sorin. I think the coolest thing about him is the emblem in the packs. The one thing I do like is that it looks like more tribal decks will be better to play. I love me some tribal. Oh, and Gravecrawler.

I'm just surprised we've never had a card named "Black Cat" before. Would have thought that would have been in The Dark or Legends or something. Overall, I like this set, and I like even more that it's cheap. Aside from Sorin, I don't see any real >$10 cards. This is a great casual set.

I think the Spirit Lord is the best card in the set. Things that give Hexproof to everything always are good and blue and white are strong colors for support. Unfortunately the best spirit is green Strangleroot Geist, but it could be a blessing.Green gives you ramp and then you can drop the Drogskol Reaver earlier with Hexproof. If I played standard I'd try Bant Spirits and see if it goes anywhere You got Adaptive Automation Doomed Traveler Midnight Haunting Spectral Knight Mindshrieker Phantasmal Image. Geist moorland haunt **Edit** Just checked the spirit lord and he's a spirit himself. Best card now hands down. Expect to see like cackling counterpart, phantasmal image, and Drogskol Captain decks. Drop Green and ramp for counters against BSZ and other untargeted mass removal. Dismember is now useless lol.

Imaging the hexproof/spirit lord is better than Lord of the Unreal for sure.

The night the set was spoiled, I gave a cheer for Black Cat. I'm glad it wasn't done before, as it fits this block's flavour just a little better than it would have The Dark. My guilty favourite card. quote: Originally posted by coasterdude84: Overall, I like this set, and I like even more that it's cheap. Aside from Sorin, I don't see any real >$10 cards. Agree about it being a great casual set. Wizards listened to the people screaming for better stuff at lower rarity and printed a lot of great uncommons especially. I wish foil preorders were available, although I probably would have spent twice the $$$. Probably a sleeper hit amongst the Rares/Mythics, as was said. Does nobody think Curse of Misfortunes might spawn a Curses!.dec, or will that be a strictly casual thing too?

Same here. It's going to look great in foil I'm thinking too. I like the fact that there's a cat in White as well. Great flavor and feel to this set! I've been enjoying this block a lot so far. Lots of great casual and EDH stuff for me so far. Can't wait for the pre-release.

No doubt the flavor and theme of the set is good. No doubt there are plenty of good commons and uncommons, as well as some big players in EDH...I can't imagine I'd pay more than 85.00 for a complete set after the prices settle a bit, maybe less!

I do not see the excitement over Grafdigger's Cage. It stops cards from being cast from the graveyard, so it does nothing against Reanimate, Makeshift Mannequin, Animate Dead and so on, yeah? What am I not seeing here?

This is it's exact text.. So it stops anything Graveyard based, and prevents anything from entering play from the Library. Creature cards can't enter the battlefield from graveyards or libraries. Players can't cast cards in graveyards or libraries. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

So this wording does nothing to prevent getting bridge from Below Zombie tokens.

As a dredge player I'm far less worried about this than the solutions that already exist.

I am still kinda giddy that werewolves may still be a viable deck format with the set. I really liked the ophidian were wolf and the huntmaster enough that I decided to gamble by buying a bunch of mayor of avabrucks on speculation. Well, if anything else, I am still going to enjoy the deck even if it does not win any major events.

Same. I plan on playing Werewolves in Standard. People underestimate Full Moon's Rise. DoJ? Nice try. Slagstorm? No thanks. The only worrisome one is Black Sun's Zenith. __________________ -Schmitty 5th in Refs [228] in OH-IO (4 behind helper monkey) 2nd in Posts [6607] in OH-IO (only 1500 behind Val) “If Brad Stevens is the future of coaching in college basketball, the sport is in a good place.” - Rick Pitino
