I 4-3 dropped. Played Reid Duke in round 7, had him dead on the board, he top decked a win. I did manage to find the foil Mikaeus the unhallowed I was after, picked up a set of foil japanese delver, and got some pretty solid EDH foils (foil japanese aura shards, etc).I had fun. Friends that I got to go up had never been to an event that size and it was funny to see their eyes get huge when they walked into the room on saturday, Good times all around. I said hi to coolio as usual, but then didn't see him after friday. I saw nderdog and wife there, but was feeling kinda antisocial since I was sorta sick all weekend; I went along my way instead of saying hi... so, "hi." Not sure why I get sick right before large events. First worlds, now GP Seattle. Bleh!

Lot of locals are up in arms due to what appears to be a bad head judge call which resulted in a local being dq'ed just before the Top8 cut.

oh really. Whats the full story? was reading about it on nwm but then the site seems to have gone down.... bleh! I'll read about it later and see if either of the involved players actually post. From the little I've read so far it does seem odd that the player w/ the locked top 8 gets the DQ.

Don't know the whole story. Have yet to hear from the person in question though I am trying to get in touch with him.Here's information I do know:
Round 13 or 14
His opponent requested a draw so that he'd have a chance to Top8.
Local replied that his opponent should concede so he would Top8 (could have missed by tiebreakers).
Local wishes to simply play.
Opponent is adamant about it and brings the current standings into it.
Someone else (?) brings a judge into it.
Judges talk to both of them, away from each other.
Local gets DQ'ed. Pretty sure there's a big chunk of information missing. Was given 2nd hand information that the other player in question (winner of the recent Portland PTQ (?) ) is a known cheater. __________________

Now that NWM is back, I was able to gleam a bit more information. After looking at standings, local agreed to a scoop (would lock them both into Top8).
Opponent calls over a judge, claiming that the local was offering a scoop for some money.
Judges compared the he said / she said stories and made a judgment call. __________________

I remember something similar that happened years ago, in Sao Paulo, I think, that resulted in a fight
