Just wanted to note that if anyone sees an excess of cube staples (particularly hard to find ones like booster tutor, whowhatwhenwherewhy) in foil, please let me know. There was an all foil cube stolen at GP Baltimore so if anyone has seen this or know of these type cards that are generally not foil pop up together, please message me.

I was just reading up on this. To give some more info for those that don't know, Justin Parnell's cube deck was stolen from GP:Baltimore.

It’s a labor of love of the game, and really, with the time and effort of selecting cards to produce a specific play environment, a work of art.

I urge everyone to keep an eye out for these cards. We have over 50,000 members, all over the world, that's a LOT of eyes out there.

Thanks,
Jazaray

I just had someone in northern virginia email me a few days ago about selling their collection and coming down to our store. I will also keep an eye out (I feel the pain - I had a fully powered vintage deck stolen 7 years ago!)

I am curious to know how someone can lose a cube? I have gotten my share of cards stolen, but never something as big as a cube. Was he just extremely careless, left it in a car/hotel room or did someone just went up to his table with a brass pair?

From what I understand the cards were stolen out of a car along with a laptop.

Justin's cube was stolen on site; Eric Klug's laptop was stolen out of his car.

Are there any notable cards in the CUBE that would set it apart? Are there any markings on any of the cards that members could look for?

Hey guys, justin's a good friend of mine. His stuff was stolen literally from in front of him; he had his bag right there in sight, turned to observe a cube game, turned back, and it was gone (it being his backpack with both his foiled cube and binders with both Legacy and Modern Staples).

He wasn't "extremely careless" by any means. Justin's probably one of the most careful people out there when it comes to his stuff. The person who did this is no slouch; he had to have watched Justin to get a pattern as to when he turned to watch the game, looked back at his bag, then turned towards the game, and timed his swipe accordingly. This isn't as simple as "you should have watched your bag", which is the scary part considering people are skilled enough to pull this off within literally inches of the owner.

Instead of seeing how we can criticize Justin's actions in this (which, by all accounts, were about as good as you can get without literally locking the bag to his body), we need to both keep an eye out for Justin's stuff (which, for those wondering what distinguishes it, is literally a 540-card all-foil (minus duals) cube, with Judge foils and artist-signed foils) as well as keep an eye out for this type of thing at events. Our attention can be easily taken away from our stuff, but we can also make a point to keep an eye out when we're just standing around as well.

I've never been to a big event so I was wondering if maybe there might be cameras that could have seen who took it?

Really? Did you even bother to read the other comments before you posted?

The biggest giveaway non-proxy card is an artist-signed Foil Tangle Wire, as a side note.

Right, because there are TONS of foils Seas and Black Lotus out there...

How about I belittle you about you signing up for Werewold and then just flat out not participating?

Arguements happen here all the time. I guess I chould have taken it to PM and for that I apologize. But we would get banned because of it? That seems a bit harsh...

This thread is not to discuss MOTL moderation practices. Please take that to PM if you feel the need to veer off-topic.
