First, listing 1-drops doesn't define it as format warping (you didn't even list some of the biggest ones, like Brainstorm, Hierarch, High Tide, or Entomb). Force of Will stops all that and more, and it hasn't broken the game yet. Daze doesn't cost mana, and I've had every single one of those cards you've listed stopped by a Daze. Second, you can only play 4 of them, and like anything else, it's once and done. Therefore, there is no way you would possibly stop every single 1-drop your opponent will play. But assuming you're right, the format could stand to be slowed down a little bit anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I got Misstepped A LOT while it was legal, but I didn't feel it was unfair. In fact, I felt that it was a card that fit right in at the power level of Legacy. I both won and lost games where Misstep countered something of mine, and ones where I played Misstep. It was good, yet fair.
Misstep was a vital tool to stopping things like Solidarity, a rather blue deck if you ask me. When Misstep was banned, I played against 4 different High Tide decks in one day. Maybe to someone the meta became more diverse, but it sure as hell wasn't me.
Jace, on the other hand, is a walking Brainstorm that can protect itself from the primary source of removal: creatures. If Blue is too dominant, how can you possible justify removing Misstep over Jace? I feel dirty whenever I play a Jace, and I can't help thinking, "this card really isn't fair."
Unfortunately for me, Snapcaster Mage only makes things worse. With the exception of a couple Reanimator decks (oh wait, they run blue too) and a Maverick deck (myself), everyone by me is playing blue. Even the burn and zoo decks are running Snappy. Doubtful I'll be getting Misstep back anytime soon. I may as well just maindeck my Chokes at this point, but they'd probably ban it for being unfair to blue.
