I'm watching some replays on youtube and I see (Mike Noble) play his Mox Pearl before he plays his fetchland. He is going second and the opposing player (who is playing blue/black) has 2 lands in play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=U6dGcd9i5Yk Is it simply a situation where it doesn't matter what he plays first so who cares, or what?

Do all the "pro"s endlessly shuffle their hands? It's incredibly annoying. And no, it doesn't distract me when I'm actually playing. It just makes you seen like an idiot.

I've noticed that they do that, too. It's a nervous tick or something. Maybe it's more accurate to say they do it to pretend they have a play they don't.

It's supposed to be so your opponent doesn't know whether you are playing the card you just drew or if you had it in your hand before, but yes doing it through an entire match makes people want to punch you, or at least call you out for not wearing deodorant.

Guessing if he had daze in his hand he would play it differently if not no harm in playing it first. Sometimes you do it to try to bait a counter spell so you can go land ancestral

assuming no knowledge of his opponent's deck, I think he'd want to give his opponent the opportunity to waste a daze on a mox. After looking at the match up I doubt there were any dazes in his opponent's deck, but guess you never know.

Nobody plays Daze anymore. And honestly, nobody counters a Mox, so there is no real difference in the order they are played.__________________ MOTL's Most Likely to Play in the Pro Tour - 2007, 2008, and 2009 (My 2008 Nationals) The Official Tower Magic Facebook Page
