Look at the top 8 of any major legacy or modern event. The cards that are common between those decks are what you would consider staples. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

Actually, the list of what's considered staples of any format can be pretty long. Most people aren't going to sit here an type everything out for you. Especially when the info is readily available from many sources. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

Here's a list to get started with: - Armageddon Clock - Sedge Troll - Sorrow's Path - Great Wall - Wood Elemental - Cold Storage - Deathlace

Ashnod's Coupon is by far the biggest staple in MTG hands down! I won the release tournament when the set came out because the kid I was playing against could not get me a beer (underage)

I think a lot of people use that word wrong. stuff like counterspell, disenchant, etc are staples.people seem to use staple as the word for "whats currently hot" like sneak attack.

It only sees play in one deck. Legacy "staple" shortlist consists of: Duals, Fetches, Wasteland, the 2-drop critters, FoW, Brainstorm, Ponder, StP, and that's about it.
