Looking to see what people's thoughts are on a set of collector's edition in which the corners of the cards were trimmed to look like beta. What are people using collector's edition for? Cube? EDH? Collecting? If you had a Collector's Edition card that wasnt trimmed would you consider trading it for one that is? Not really looking to gauge a monetary value but rather people's perception.

I use my collector's edition for my cube. I perceive the trimmed CE cards as damaged so I'd much prefer to own ones that haven't been trimmed. I certainly wouldn't trade a non-damaged CE card for a damaged version.

There used for Cube, EDH, Proxies. I would never trade for them. They have been cut so they are considered damaged to me.

imo if they are trimmed they are less desirable than regular CE by about 20%. I would have no problem getting them as long as they were discounted.

Another question, in my mind, would be - Are they trimmed uniformly? It's very hard to accomplish without a professional card rounder. http://www.factory-express.com/Paper_Cutters/Cornerounders/cornerounders.html

Well, you could make your own pretty easily. I built a punch to make my own card boxes, could easily make a smaller one to do cards.

That's pretty epic, actually. Care to share designs? It would be awesome for Instructibles.com or the like

They are pretty simple, basically you make a die using a wood base and than add dull rounded metal for where you want the creases and sharpened metal where you want the cuts to be, the cutting edges will be a couple mm longer than the creasing edges. Once the die is made you can either find a used press that suits your need or build your own manual press if you don't plan on making thousands of boxes. From there it's just trial and error repositioning your edges position and length to find what works best and makes the nicest looking finished product.
