Saturday I will be attending the Indy SCG. I'll also be trading a lot of my cards in for SCG credit, so if anyone wants to hit me up before then, let me know and I'll give you a deal.Anyway, I'm playing a U/W control-midrange deck. I'm using a lot of strategy that wasn't seen in the previous two top 8. Such as Geist of Saint Traft/Rootborn Defenses or Cackling Counterpart combos. I felt like Rootborn Defenses helps with Supreme Verdict too. I also rely on a lot of bounce control, and tap control. Unsummons, Rift, Blustersquall, Tamiyo, etc. My friend going with me says my deck won't stand a shot against zombie decks there. In my local metagame, I mop the floor against the zombie decks. His argument is that the speed of g/b Zombies will be too much to go against. So any advice on approaching the current metagame at an SCG Open with U/W? Is my friend right in saying that using bounce control is unwise?

Seems like dual blue walkers + bounce should work fine vs zombies..only need to hold them off till you can wrath, and game 2/3 you have Rest In Piece which hurts them a lot to....I'd say just make sure you have a solid sideboard.. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. Absolutely love Crippling Chill vs Zombies, never had a bad experience with it.

I haven't had too much trouble with zombies, azorius charm slows there tempo down so much it's hard for them to kill you before you can wrath and stabalize. Rest in peace is good, and nevermore has been great for me post board.

The rootbound defenses were all over states and scg open Swiss rounds. It's nothing impressive, a decent control player can and will be able to manage easily. So what's the best way to beat Terminus? Dissipate? Syncopate definitely won't do it. I guess I would have enough bounce control to try and not overextend into it and bounce my Geist back.

negate, works pretty well especially since you are putting pressure on.
