3-Card Blind (3CB) is a very unique game. The rules are as follows: * Your deck is composed of 3 cards, all of which start in your hand. * You have no library (technically, the library exists, but starts at 0 cards) and no sideboard (Wishes fetch nothing). * Random effects always go against the owner of the card. * You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play. * You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card. * You will play each opponent twice, once going first, once going second. * For each win, you score 3. * For each draw, you score 1. * For each loss, you get nothing. * A subgame played with the card Shahrazad will result in an incomplete game and both players will receive ZERO points, since the main game cannot be resumed. Neither player loses or draws, so neither player earns any points. * Other than the aforementioned, EVERYTHING IS HANDLED EXACTLY LIKE A REAL GAME OF MAGIC! Remember, it is important for your deck to include a way to cast your cards! (Lands, artifact mana, pitch cards, etc.) If you want to play PM me a message in this format. Please make every effort to spell your card names correctly. It makes it easier for everyone. Thanks. The "Vanishing" part is the twist. To start off with, only Unglued, Unhinged and Ante cards are banned. After each round, the 3 cards in the winning deck plus any cards in more than 1/3 of the decks played will be banned for all future rounds. NO MISE DECKS! Any deck submitted MUST have some win condition. Any deck that can do no better than a draw against any possible deck will be rejected. A deck that can't win any game is mathematically eliminated from winning the round, and thus would just be taking a chance to win away from someone who could actually have a shot. ALL players will assist in judging. The way this will work is that after the submission period is over, After all decks are revealed, judge your own deck against every other deck (going first and going second). Post your findings here in this thread. They will be reviewed by everyone for accuracy. Once a winner is determined the winners deck will be added to the banned list and the next round will begin. Repeated failure to do your own scoring will result in suspensions! Edit to add: 1) We will only be using cards from Standard. I know some veterans of the game will gripe and say that Standard is awful in general and worse when you can only use three cards, and you won't get to use your broken decks like Black Lotus, Black Vise, Balance. However, the smaller card pool is less intimidating to newer players and less mental strain to us all. We can change the format soon. 2) Instead of the normal 40+ weeks that I normally try to drag out the tournament, with no clear winner until our numbers diminish into nothing, we will instead be running each round for only 10 weeks, and at the end declare a winner. If you don't like Standard, wait 10 weeks and we'll have a new format. I'd even be willing to put the next format to a popular vote (sorry, no electoral college in this game) and see what most people would like to play. There will be a clear-cut winner after 10 weeks AND the play will rotate more often than usual, so it doesn't get stale. 3) Due to the limitations of the Standard pool, I don't want to restrict everyone to boring decks like Plains, Dryad Militant, Dryad Militant versus Mountain, Pillar of Flame, Rakdos Cackler. So, instead, just for this round, there will be a major alteration of the rules: Each turn, you may put a token land onto the battlefield on your side. This counts as your land for the turn. If a token land leaves play for any reason, it ceases to exist. The ONLY lands you may play this way are the five basic (non-Snow Covered) lands available in Standard - Forest, Island, Mountain, Plains, Swamp. You are free to play with other non-basic lands, but these will count towards your three cards in your deck if you do so. Winner's List:

I'm trying out a slightly different schedule from now on - I'm going to post the new round on Sunday, accept submissions until Tuesday night, post the decklists on Wednesday and give people until Saturday to score. Let me know if anyone has any strong feelings on the matter one way or another.

The decklists have been posted.You may use other formats as well, but this one is a must. Also PLEASE make sure you use the proper deck number for your deck. Replace the '?' on the bottom line with the number next to your name on the decklist. Scoring: Play your deck against each other deck twice, once with you going first, once with them going first. Always remember that each deck is to be played perfectly. For each of the 2 games, score 3 points if your deck wins or 1 point if the game is a draw, with no points for a loss. Some examples: 2 wins (WW) is 6 points. A win and a draw (WD) is 4 points. A win and a loss (WL) is 3 points. 2 draws (DD) is 2 points. A draw and a loss (DL) is 1 point. 2 losses (LL) is 0 points. Elixir of Immortality, Detention Sphere, Bonfire of the Damned I think syncopate is the only thing that beats me out of these decks. I can out-race any Planeswalker or creature, including Worldspine Wurm. Enchantments can be dealt with, Miracling Bonfire is faster than Devil's Play, Elixir is better than Memory's Journey, I can get anything I discard back, same with Dispel on Bonfire.

2. Bugger LL 0 - Yeah, I still don't have a good answer for Pack Rat. Pack Rat Worldspine Wurm Syncopate 3. FleeceItOut WW 6 - This is interesting. On the play, I drop turn 4 Garruk and make a beast. He drops turn 4 Sorin and makes a guy. I swing with both creatures. He blocks the beast and he gets this for one more turn. I should be fast enough at this point to win. On the draw, reverse the order they come into play, but I should still be plenty fast enough to win when he needs to get to turn 22 at least before he can kill me with Devil's Play. Sever the Bloodline Devil's Play Sorin, Lord of Innistrad 4. ectomanic WD 4 - He can keep Rest in Peace or Griffin off of Mind Rot, and has to attack Garruk to kill it. On the play, I have just enough to attack him to 0.On the draw, I'm just a tiny bit too slow and we stare. Rest in Peace Supreme Verdict Misthollow Griffin 5. tritoch LL 0 - Elixir is bad. He can play Savagery, but can't attack, as I kill him with a return attack, despite his dragon being a 17/17. On the draw, Prey Upon kills Arbor Elf. I still Mind Rot on turn 3 and play Garruk turn 5. On his turn 7, I have 2 Beast Tokens to his 14/14, with me up 20-17 on life and that is plenty. Slumbering Dragon Increasing Savagery Prey Upon 12. ryan2754 WW 6 - Same as 8 Mind Rot Sorin, Lord of Innistrad Vraska the Unseen 13. Numotflame96 LL 0 - Elixir is bad. Elixir of Immortality Dreadbore Olivia Voldaren 14. Myy WL 3 - Ok then... The easy part: Only the person on the play uses their elf and gets a turn 4 planeswalker. On the play for me, that means Turn Garruk and more than enough ammo to kill Vrasaka, as I have 2 Beasts and the Elf by the time it drops. yaku WW - you play garruk on 5 i entreat for 1 on 5, then you d-sphere my angel and dispel my first mem journey. I bonfire for 3 on turn 7 and then flashback journey to get entreat for 4 on turn 8 and kill garruk with plenty of angels left up for defense bugger WL - I know you can never play the rat or he gets bonfired, so I am going to operate under the impression that you have to syncopate my entreat and will just hold mana up for that so I have to win before your 13th turn. So I go turn 7 bonfire for 3, (journey) turn 9 bonfire for 7, turn 10 entreat for 3 angels which you syncopate turn 12 bonfire for 10 so this strat is out for you. So what happens if you play rats on turn 2, I will have to bonfire for 0 on turn 1 in anticipation of this which you can syncopate my bonfire after I journey it back into my deck. Then I play entreat on turn 4 for 0 and can make 2x angels which is not ennough. On the play if you ever play rats then I bonfire them away and win. FleeceItOut LL - If I bonfire away sorin and his tokens then your devil's play is faster than my miracles ectomaniac LL - rest in peace > my deck tritoch LL - Wish I'd have thought of the elixir Lemon Meringue WL - On the play I can kill lili and then get both my cards back when I am at 2 life with one angel in play. On the draw I am 1 step too late junichi WW - mind rot either dumps my miracles or doesn't but the miracled entreats should get there. MAB_Rapper WW - about the same as the last one Dimh WW - I dump bonfire into the yard and miracle it whenever you cast your rat and win with a pair of angels on turn 7 pugowar WW - I don't think you can beat make an angel on turn 5 then 4 angels on turn 7, 5 angels on turn 8. I end the game at 3 from one giant attack ryan2754 WW - same as above miracles take it numot WW - I am not at all sure about this but I think that I bonfire for 3 on turn 7 to slow down your olivia mildly and then wait until turn 11 when the score is 52-2 to miracle entreat for 8 and then 9 the following turn. You steal 3 of them and kill one with dreadbore but the attacks are barely enough to get you. I think, this one is very unweildy. myy WW - miracles + journey can stop rot + vraska

DD Sphere kills Olivia, dreadbore ills garruk then any tokens made. I gain infinite life but don't win 2. Bugger Pack Rat Worldspine Wurm Syncopate on the play: I cast elixir and we play the waiting game. if he casts pack rat before turn 5 I just dread bore it, if I cast olivia he just syncopates it. he taps 2 for rats, I got to dreadbore. he makes a copy and olivia. on his turn he make another copy. on my turn I kill a rat and pump olivia to a 6/6. at this point he can't attack profitably and I can just keep killing rats. If he ever casts worldspine I can just steal it. on the draw he always can keep open mana for syncopate so I cn't resolve olivia and I lose. 3. FleeceItOut Sever the Bloodline Devil's Play Sorin, Lord of Innistrad DD I play elixir and use it turn 2 to go to 25. turn 4 I get olivia and he gets sorin, both of which meet the oposing removal spell. Okay, I think I messed up.On the play, it's a draw. If I play out shrieking afflictions, you win. If I don't, you mind rot me on t2, and I discard down to Liliana. I play her t3 and then +1 and then -2 to tie the game. On the draw, you play an elf, I play a swamp. If you mind rot, I discard the two afflictions. T3 you swing for 1, T3 I play liliana and we draw. If you don't play mind rot on t2, I play liliana on t3 and -2, so you have to mind rot. Looks like DD

Seems like to me that when Myy is on the play he plays turn 1 elf, you do nothing saving for the mind rot. He does nothing until you play lili on turn 3, if you +1 he discards mind rot and then plays vraska, which can kill both afflictions before lethal. If you -2 then he plays land 4 then you play both afflictions and +1, he discards rot and goes to 14, vraska kills an affliction, you wait, he goes to 11 and vraska +1, you wait, he goes to 8 and vraska to 4, he goes to 5 then kills the 2nd affliction with vraska at one. You can ultimate lili at this point but will still lose.
