3-Card Blind (3CB) is a very unique game. The rules are as follows: * Your deck is composed of 3 cards, all of which start in your hand. * You have no library (technically, the library exists, but starts at 0 cards) and no sideboard (Wishes fetch nothing). * Random effects always go against the owner of the card. * You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play. * You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card. * You will play each opponent twice, once going first, once going second. * For each win, you score 3. * For each draw, you score 1. * For each loss, you get nothing. * A subgame played with the card Shahrazad will result in an incomplete game and both players will receive ZERO points, since the main game cannot be resumed. Neither player loses or draws, so neither player earns any points. * Other than the aforementioned, EVERYTHING IS HANDLED EXACTLY LIKE A REAL GAME OF MAGIC! Remember, it is important for your deck to include a way to cast your cards! (Lands, artifact mana, pitch cards, etc.) If you want to play PM me a message in this format. Subject should include "Vanishing 3-Card Blind" (Just click on the little PM icon above my post and it should work out that way.) Please make every effort to spell your card names correctly. It makes it easier for everyone. Thanks. The "Vanishing" part is the twist. To start off with, only Unglued, Unhinged and Ante cards are banned. After each round, the 3 cards in the winning deck plus any cards in more than 1/3 of the decks played will be banned for all future rounds. NO MISE DECKS! Any deck submitted MUST have some win condition. Any deck that can do no better than a draw against any possible deck will be rejected. A deck that can't win any game is mathematically eliminated from winning the round, and thus would just be taking a chance to win away from someone who could actually have a shot. ALL players will assist in judging. The way this will work is that after the submission period is over, After all decks are revealed, judge your own deck against every other deck (going first and going second). Post your findings here in this thread. They will be reviewed by everyone for accuracy. Once a winner is determined the winners deck will be added to the banned list and the next round will begin. Repeated failure to do your own scoring will result in suspensions! Edit to add: 1) We will only be using cards from Standard. I know some veterans of the game will gripe and say that Standard is awful in general and worse when you can only use three cards, and you won't get to use your broken decks like Black Lotus, Black Vise, Balance. However, the smaller card pool is less intimidating to newer players and less mental strain to us all. We can change the format soon. 2) Instead of the normal 40+ weeks that I normally try to drag out the tournament, with no clear winner until our numbers diminish into nothing, we will instead be running each round for only 10 weeks, and at the end declare a winner. If you don't like Standard, wait 10 weeks and we'll have a new format. I'd even be willing to put the next format to a popular vote (sorry, no electoral college in this game) and see what most people would like to play. There will be a clear-cut winner after 10 weeks AND the play will rotate more often than usual, so it doesn't get stale. 3) Due to the limitations of the Standard pool, I don't want to restrict everyone to boring decks like Plains, Dryad Militant, Dryad Militant versus Mountain, Pillar of Flame, Rakdos Cackler. So, instead, just for this round, there will be a major alteration of the rules: Each turn, you may put a token land onto the battlefield on your side. This counts as your land for the turn. If a token land leaves play for any reason, it ceases to exist. The ONLY lands you may play this way are the five basic (non-Snow Covered) lands available in Standard - Forest, Island, Mountain, Plains, Swamp. You are free to play with other non-basic lands, but these will count towards your three cards in your deck if you do so. Winner's List:

I'd also like to remind everyone that if you copy and paste someone else's scores to use the grid as a template for your own, I have no problem, but PLEASE, remember to change the deck number to match your own. There were several "duplicates" last round that makes it confusing.

The decklists have been posted.You may use other formats as well, but this one is a must. Also PLEASE make sure you use the proper deck number for your deck. Replace the '?' on the bottom line with the number next to your name on the decklist. Scoring: Play your deck against each other deck twice, once with you going first, once with them going first. Always remember that each deck is to be played perfectly. For each of the 2 games, score 3 points if your deck wins or 1 point if the game is a draw, with no points for a loss. Some examples: 2 wins (WW) is 6 points. A win and a draw (WD) is 4 points. A win and a loss (WL) is 3 points. 2 draws (DD) is 2 points. A draw and a loss (DL) is 1 point. 2 losses (LL) is 0 points. LemonMeringue LL 0 - He has just enough to get past all 3 guys and kill me some 15-20 turns later. Geist of Saint Traft Devil's Play Sever the Bloodline 4. Bugger LL 0 - Obvious... Pack Rat Worldspine Wurm Nevermore 5. Myy WW 6 - He can counter one guy, but not three. Pretty much doesn't matter which one. Syncopate Restoration Angel Negate 6. junichi LL 0 - The one deck more Aggro than me... Wolfbitten Captive Mayor of Avabruck Daybreak Ranger 7. bushe LL 0 - Ick... syncopate snapcaster mage devil's play 8. tritoch WW 6 - He can deal with 2 threats, but not three. I just beat in the air after he plays it and make Rites irrelevant. ray of revelation unburial rites zealous conscripts 12. FleeceItOut WW 6 - This is a tough one. On the play, Paladin comes out first. If he Mind Rots, he pretty much loses, as I attack for 12 before he can Sever once. If he doesn't, I play Angel, swing for 8, get something Severed and still beat him down before turn 8. On the draw, Mind Rot takes care of Paladin and I get a free 4/4 (if he plays it). Turn 3 I swing for 4. Sever can take care of Smiter, but I swing for 4 per turn on my turns 5-8, with lethal being right after he plays Army. If he doesn't, I play turn 3 Paladin. I drop Angel turn 4 regardless of his play. If he didn't Sever, I swing for 8 and no matter what, I will have enough damage after he Severs anything. If he did, I drop Smiter and swing for 5 for 4 turns, which is just enough. And if he Mind Rot's on Turn 4 after I play Paladin, he will take 12 on my turn 4. 8 damage I can do in 4 turns, since all his tokens come into play tapped. Mind Rot Sever the Bloodline Army of the Damned

yaku ?? too complicated, figure it out later, leaning towards LL lemon WW - I counter your geist and when you go to burn me out I counter that too, then burn you out MAB_Rapper DD - Can't counter the smiter so I have to burn him out at some point which allows you to cast your others without fear of synco so we end up trading snappy for paladin bugger WW Myy DD - On the play you resto on my turn 6, i synco for 2, you pay it or negate and I snapcast and synco for 1 with you tapped out. So you never play resto and I never play anything. On the draw I play snappy on turn 2, if you synco then play kills the angel and we draw. If not then you have to wait until my end step turn 6 to play the angel, at which point you are at 12 life so you can't race the snapcaster so they just stare at each other. juni LL - too fast for my counters and when your guys flip I can't trade mage for any of them even though I kill 2. tritoch WD - on the play you pilgrim, i devils play it. Then if you nevermore I can syncopate it and when with either the play or snapcaster. Numot WW - I flash in snapcaster early and then hold syncopate for olivia - which i can always pay for yours and have enough to tap you out Dimh WW - counter rat and wurm, win with play ecto WW - synco zealous and win fleece WW - synco rot and army and play ftw

(6) I untap and pass. I shoot the ranger before it flips, but he just swings with the team forthe win. on the play, I cast T1 needle. he casts the captive. I untap to have my syncopate up, stoping the turn 2 mayor. even if he runs out the ranger to bait the syncopate, I still get the extra turns I needed to get olivia active. 7. bushe LL syncopate snapcaster mage devil's play he just casts SCM turn 2. If I cast my syncopate then, then I'm dead to the devils play. If I don' he just hold his syncopate for olivia nad smashes me. 8. tritoch LL
Avacyn's Pilgrim Nevermore Syncopate I can couter syncopate or nevermore but not both so i can't land olivia. I lose to 1/1 pilgrim. 10. Dimh WW

If he dies before he gets enough mana to cast conscripts an steal olivia permanently. 12. Bugger - WW Pack Rat Worldspine Wurm Nevermore Golgari Charm will kill rats turn 2-4 (in response to activation). Nevermore cannot be played until turn 6 as I can Charm in response to kill the rats. With that, I can beat down with my rats, with regen mana and activation mana up, allowing me to kill him. 5. Myy - WL
Syncopate Restoration Angel Negate On the play, rats race angel. On the draw, Syncopate gets the rats. 6. junichi - LL Wolfbitten Captive Mayor of Avabruck Daybreak Ranger Doggies can't race the Pack of Rats. 7. bushe LL syncopate snapcaster mage devil's play 8. tritoch - WW Avacyn's Pilgrim Nevermore Syncopate Rats come out on the play and do their pack thing. Plays Elf turn 1, then sits on Syncopate the rest of the game. Elf is a 20 turn clock, allows plenty of time to get a threat down to kill. If he Nevermores Rat, I can Golgari Charm it then play Rats. 1. yakusoku XX Lingering Souls Memory's Journey Runic Repetition 2. LemonMeringue LL. He can play Sever on turn 4, then attack for 6. I rebuild my army, but he can flashback Sever, attack for another 6, Devil's play, flash it back and I lose before I can recover. 3. MAB_Rapper WW. I can stave off his attack and attack back enough to race, until the point where I lingering souls multiple times.
4. Bugger LL. He plays Nevermore on Lingering Souls and I lose to multiple Pack Rats.
5. Myy DD. I can't go infinite on him, since he can Syncopate Runic Repition at any time, but he can't stop me from making at least 4 Spirits, which is enough to race or block and kill Restoration Angel, but I can't push through enough damage, either. So, we stare. 6. junichi WL. On the play, I am able to minimize the number of wolves he has, create two spirits a turn and race his creatures with spirits. On the draw, his creatures are too much. 7. bushe LL. He can Syncopate Lingering Souls and Runic and stop me cold. He Mind Rots on turn 3, Severs if I ever flashback lingering souls, flashbacks sever if I ever flashback lingering souls again and turn 8 plays Army to win.
