Saw them holding quite a lot of sales. Some of the prices are really not bad, same as MOTL level. So curious if they are in trouble and need fast cash.

I would doubt it. More likely they have a lot of stock of certain things and are just looking to liquidate some of it, especially if they see prices falling in the not so distant future.

It tells me that no one bought any of their 300 copies of heavily played Balance for 3 bucks over the last few years. Notice that a lot of the MOTL level sales are for MP cards, which according to their grading scale means it is sleeve playable, but doesn't have much else going for it.__________________ Got Mitotic Manipulation? For sure they did do this last year as well. There are some good deals to be had if you're fast enough to get them (e.g. Griselbrand at $6), and a lot with fair prices.

Very rarely if ever is SCG going to be better than eBay or MOTL prices.

I was trying to be sarcastic, what I meant was their sale prices would actually be normal prices

Some really good prices. SP hymn to tourach for 1, nm manabond for 1, sp pattern of rebirth for 1.5. i have not seen these prices for a long while. of course many other sale prices are dud. but i could still pick up 1200 worth of cards

They mainly do these sales to clear out SP/MP/HP inventory, just like they do with the cards they travel with to shows. Most of the stuff they sell at tournaments and shows like GenCon is played, and they keep the NM stuff for sales on the website (where a customer can't see a card in person). They're not in trouble, just clearing out excess.

Kind of disappointed the sale is over, it was fun checking SCG at noon EST every day to see what new stuff they had.The foil sale on the last day seemed especially good, although it seemed to only go on for 12 hours (noon to midnight). They had all foils 20% off, even the NM ones.

They should hire Stu as a consultant since he's made something like $500k in profit over the years as a side gig. Maybe he could teach them a thing or two.
