I'm glad you are happy about this, but we have a Post for Magic Stuff thread. I don't think this needs it's own topic.__________________ My 2008 Nationals MOTL's Pro-Tour Winner 2007-2009 Tower Magic FacebookhilikuS: Also, as much as MAB's list has become the list on the T/A Forum, I do miss Slinga's.

This deck is pretty sweet, I tried to do something similar with Goblin Electromancer and Mana accelerators. Blistercoil weird wasn't my focus but was in the deck. This is a much more elegant version of what I was trying to create. I could win on turn two, but it was no where near as often.
The best part.. this deck would cost what, like 10$?

20+ easy Paradise Mantle is like 3-4 and Manamorphose is like 2-3 and serum visions is like 3-4, slight of hand is like 2-3 as well... rest is cheap, so far at least. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

The updated version toward the end of the article is significantly more expensive.Cool, but seems very much like a glass cannon deck. A non-burn removal spell pretty much shuts you down. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

If you have 1-2 extra mana, and enough instants, you can keep going off in response to the removal spell. You may not be able to get there, but it's possible.

True. It just blanks the sorcery cards in your hand. Seems like an uphill climb though. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

probably true. Loses to T1 bolt too most of the time.

Hmm although you COULD use the phyrexian-mana pump spell to protect against bolts (and help beat damage effects in general) or even spell snare or the phyrexian "target creature gets protection from blah blah" to protect your combo. Introduces more dead slots to the deck though.

I think it's neat and quirky, but it's not quite where it would need to be to be considered dangerous yet. Paradise Mantle is not in any danger of being banned atm. Also, in some goldfishing, I'm finding it significantly less consistent than its advertised as being. That could be shuffling and/or not playing the spells in the correct order. I find that I like Tome Scour the least because I want to dig, not mill. __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*FB*Logout- MM is a copycat! (So am I)*CKGB

I agree that the decklist isn't anywhere near "top-tier" yet, but I do think that it has potential. Also, as a consummate johnny I do apporove of "I'm going to play a hundred-thousand-things!!!" types of lists (I'm building Moldy CHeerios right now, for God's Sake :P). However, what it lacks in protection it makes up for in sheer speed. Vs Tron, Affinity and Scapeshift you basically have a free Win. I also disagree with the author about cutting the Serum Powders. Serum powder lets you effectively mulligan until you have the combo in your hand good to go, where otherwise there would just be another cantrip. And between sleight of hand, Serum visions and faithless looting it's easy to keep your hand from filling up with them. In order for this deck to be strong, however, it is going to have to go beyond the gimmick. setting 4 slots aside for Mutagenic Growth and 2 aside for Apostles Blessing helps keep the little bugger T1 bolt and in response T2 Path-proof, while not really slowing you down thanks to Ideas Unbound. I also might suggest noxious revival, both as a Thoughtsieze-protect and as a way of continuing ( noxious revival putting ideas unbound on top of library and netting a mana). In conclusion, I love this deck and I look forward to trying to make this wonderful spawn-of-Johnny competative! __________________ (>")>
