I sold some cards to mtgfanatic. They were delivered on 3/14/13 They say on their buylist it takes 6-8 weeks for payment. Has anyone else felt with them. Is it closer to 6 weeks than 8 weeks. I am needing the money soon for thee ventures. I hope they don't go past 8 weeks

Tried with of course no response. They literally say on their site any emails about payment will not be returned. I only live about 2 1/2 hours from their shop if it gets past 8 weeks I will be driving to knock on a door.

From everything I read they are reliable. I didn't need the money at the time. They pay premium prices for cards.

It takes them 6 to 8 weeks to pay? What are they doing, waiting until your cards have sold? Why are they unable to answer questions about payment? Seems shady to me.Withholding payment for two months is totally unacceptable, not to mention the time lost in shipping. I would rather sell cards on here at a lower price and get the money immediately to reinvest.

They will literally wait until the last day of the 8th week to send your payment. You'll get paid, but it will take the full 8 weeks, and they'll nickel and dime the hell out of you on conditions and won't return the cards.

Trust me I have proof of them sticking their store with the cards and conditions I sent in. I sent in 1 nm card and classified all others as heavy played. If they don't want to pay me what they owe me I will be knocking on their door.

Yeah they totally try to sell the cards before they pay you for them. It's really crappy. The prices seem good, but as dwiz said, after they wreck you on the condition, and send some of them back at your expense, you're not in as good of shape. I'm not sure if you can call it a scam, but it approaches that limit I think.

It is a scam, but some people think they can beat it. I rather sell to someone who paid me quicker with less hassle, even if I'm taking a 10% hit.

Not a scam at all, all big retails operate under a 30-90 day terms. Paying for things in cash is for small timers

That doesn't make it not a scam. I'm not saying it IS a scam, but if ALL credit cards charge much higher interest rates than other loans, credit cards are still scams (although you can certainly benefit from one/use it in a manner that won't let it scam you).

i sold to them twice. once a while back before that went good. then after the 6-8 weeks post. they took forever returned zero emails. there prices were great and they sent me back nm cards that had dropped in price while they had them and said condition was bad. they are lazy and dont update there price guide and wont honor there prices. i would NEVER do business with them again.

I feel the opposite. In the MTG market, paying for things in cash is for big timers. If you're legit, you'll have no problem with that. quote: Originally posted by bdrickybd: they sent me back nm cards that had dropped in price while they had them and said condition was bad. they ... wont honor there prices.
Sounds like scam to me.

Now that's a scam. quote: Originally posted by choco man: I feel the opposite. In the MTG market, paying for things in cash is for big timers. If you're legit, you'll have no problem with that.Sounds like scam to me.
You are right, I confused myself at some point. I meant the seller is small time

Yeah I mean, if you're willing to buy something as a dealer, you're probably making out good good. I feel like you'll gladly fork over the cash, or else you're just being foolish. You know, looking the gift horse in the mouth as they say. Maybe it's just me, but I always felt it was super stupid to be a scum about doing your business.

Uh, I've sold to Troll and Toad in the past and they send payment within 1-2 business days after receipt/verification of cards.Their online sales are huge so you cannot say 30-90 days is acceptable. That is total BS.

I still sell cards to that site cause of their buy price. They are notorious for taking a long time but there are no place else I can sell my bulk cards at above bulk price. Not even ebay.

Right? When TnT was doing MOTL, they were paying me up front because of refs. Fanatic just seems that horrible.

Yup . They may take a day or two, or sometimes longer (if you send them like 1K+ in cards ), but they have always pay fast.

Sucks that they let Zev go or else they'd still be on here doing it.

Their list really tapered off after awhile, but I got some pretty solid sales in first. I was hoping that would entice more dealers to come down and do the same, but not so much. Although we do have baldr, and Hotza's games!

Which was of course more than acceptable considering they've probably got plenty of cards coming in each day. It's always nice when someone rolls in with like 5 figures to spend on the T/A .
