I want to foil out my legacy Reanimator deck but I don't know where I should begin. I currently have 2 FNM Brainstorms and 3 foil Careful Studies. Should I start by slowly getting the more expensive cards or the cheaper, easier to obtain cards first? If you were foiling a legacy deck, where would you begin?

The cheap stuff first, as a rule.

Look for everything, pick up things that seem like a good deal. If you focus on one or two particular cards to get at a time, there may not be any available for a reasonable cost. If you just pick things up that seem like a reasonable deal, then its hard to lose. I'd just troll ebay every few days and throw stuff on your watch list. If it looks like it might end low, throw a bid on it.

Other than I have not actually bid on an item in well over a year... BIN is the way to go.

Don't give in to temptation; set a firm price limit for yourself. It'll take a long, long time, but you'll be saving money along the way. (Of course, unless you have one more card left to foil...)

the best advice I can offer is to set up saved searches for the harder to find cards on ebay. that way you get notified when they are listed.

Put up a list here with reasonable prices. As in, don't try to look for the amazingest deal ever if you ever want to actually succeed at foiling out your deck.

But 'resonable prices' here, at least lately, tend to be '95% of retail'. So eBay is the best bet.

The cards I know that would cost money that I'll have to wait awhile to foil are 4 Polluted Delta, 2 Marsh Flats, 1 Flooded Strand, 4 Daze, 2 Thoughtseize, 2 Griselbrand, 1 Iona, 1 Elesh Norn, and 4 Entomb (not the Graveborn foil). I have the FNM Brainstorms, Careful Study, Exhume, Animate Dead, Reanimate, and 2 Extirpate in the sideboard foiled at least. It will definitely look nice when it's done...in 2 years.

I would grab the foil Griselbrand's within the next 6 months if I was you, most likely will never be reprinted and will just continue to go up.
