Turns out an unknown vendor asked the TO to boot us before we arrived.

These GPs just get worse and worse. 1.5 hour wait to get started because people's paypal accounts didn't match the person who was playing in the event. Not sad to see WestCan events fold.

I haven't gone to an event in a long time so I don't get this. What does PayPal have to do with the event starting?

I believe registration was in advance only. So a lot of people probably paid via paypal.

All of the Grand Prixs I went to this year were run very smoothly and I think some are getting better, and some TOs are slow to adapt.

One of my friends made top 8 by less then 1% on Tie Breakers

8 Magalhaes, Edgar 39 63.7783%
9 Kendal, Adam 39 62.9392%

At least my bad luck gave the people from this area good luck.

Since when are you not allowed to trade at big events? I know certain groups get grouchy about cash sales ("backpack dealers") but trading is usually okay.

From the information i've been given its a small dealer who has only been to a few GPs and only ones near enough to the Toronto area.

You should complain to the DCI or whoever is the organizer's boss. If you weren't doing anything against the rules they shouldn't be banning you.

TOs are granted a large amount of leeway to keep things running IIRC. I really doubt the DCI/WotC/whoever will do anything.

There would be no way I would leave if I weren't buying selling. It wasn't any of the bigger stores, right?

I am willing to bet the fact that you were there under the name "Get Greedy Games" and not at a booth might have had something to do with it

I wouldn't blame this on the TO. The TOs charge a significant amount of money for vendor floor space. It is up to the TO to make sure that the Vendors money is protected by controlling non-authorized vendors.

If you were silly enough to pretense your trading activities and associate yourself with a rival group or business then the TO has to intervene. Unfortunate to hear about your getting the boot but next time don't advertise just trade.
