I'm considering playing GP Sacramento this weekend. I have a couple questions, because I've never done a GP event.1. Card sales/trades. Is this allowed, encouraged, discouraged as a non-vendor? I want to bring my sales binder and dump a lot of cards while I'm there, and not to the vendors either, to other players for max value. 2. How much of the day is consumed with the actual main event? This would be my first official limited event ever.

1. trades are fine, sales as a non vendor, to a non vendor is discouraged.. and likely will get you thrown out from the event. 2. how much of the day? sat, player meeting at what.. 9? an hr for deck reg + build, 1:10 on avg for rds.. 9 rds capped for the day.. easily 12 hrs.. if you manage day 2.. about the same time for rds.. of which there are 6.. but 2 called drafts + build/reg, so, about another 9-10 hrs © __________________ Since it is obviously inconceivable that all religions can be right, the most reasonable conclusion is that they are all wrong. -Christopher HitchensReligion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful. -Seneca the Younger

I was there today. Didn't see anyone. I just went to sell some cards. __________________ Everyone you meet is going through something * BoltBait is the official holder of the MOTL Logout Button [Trades] [Rules] [FAQ] [Prices] [Card Searches] [Tools] [WotC] [Dominoes] [Art] [#MOTL Chat] [Logout]

I was in a draft pod with someone wearing an MOTL shirt. Didn't realize it until the event had started so I couldn't say anything. Who was that?

I looked everywhere for my MOTL t-shirt before I went. Couldn't find it. On a sadder note, I no longer own any power. Sold all 3 of my moxes... needed the money.

At least it's nice that a little piece of cardboard can get you out of a jam sometimes. I sold most of my collection the past few years as well sadly. At least I'm still on the cusp of 15 proxy Vintage when I get an itch to go to Vscaville/Berkeley.

I was there on Friday only.I played in the Sealed 2 and Sealed 9 events. I made it to round 3 on the second one, and it was a lot of fun. One of the judges stated that they had far more registration action than they anticipated, and there were over 2000 players there for the weekend. In fact, some judges who were specifically not asked to work but were there were drafted back into action as a result of the overload.

I heard that Eudemonia (aka MOTL) and other big vendors such as Strikezone and TnT were not at Sacramento because CFB asked for a very high price on vendor booths.

and still ended up w/ plenty of selection. There were a few that probably wasted the money to be there. Most seemed to do fine. I enjoyed hanging out and chatting with a user here I had done a very large deal with, and rolling dice at his booth to lose more money.
