Topic: Scammer going around.

Just wanted to give you all a heads upI have an ad on Craigslist looking to buy magic collections, I'm in Wisconsin. I got a call today from a Florida phone number. The man on the phone said he wanted to give me $800 worth of cards for free and ship for free. All I had to do was email him my address at apeacefulcontact@yahoo.com. Obviously I didn't give him my information. But I wanted to let you all know of the threat. Not sure what he would do with my address but it's still a bit scary.

If he had agreed to ship first and collect payment when you received, would you have given him your address?

He literally wanted to give me the cards for free and ship them for free. He didn't ask for money. Just my address. But why was he looking in Wisconsin Craigslist when he's from Florida lol

I don't get how this could work as a scam. Scoping addresses for people with collections that you can then go rob?

Exactly, just like the people who rob collections out of cars parked at card stores and events.

I have no idea what his plan was lol but if rather not have him break into my house for a bunch of cards that probably don't exist. That being said my dog would probably kill him lol

Just because it is a Florida number does not mean he is in Florida. There is less risk in a B&E if he's going to leave Wi the next dayquote:

I recently just learned you can send something to a post office, general delivery. Just have em send to a post office, and then go pick it up once delivered. Then, deactivate the email account for fraud reasons, and identity theft, etc. Is this being dishonest is the question. __________________

This or a PO box sounds like a great idea. Alternatively, are there any cops on motl whose address you could give him?

I looked up the phone number provided; it is Jen Cheng's.*** Hey, you looking to buy Magic cards, ? well I am donating them, send me your physical address via email, you can have them all . Don't need anymore . Good luck . I have the box full of Magic cards (about 10k) , and if you want all the rares (roughly 200 of them) , shoot me an email. It's all yours . (850) 345-5509 . Item will be shipped from my home in Florida. I don't have the time to sell them , so you can have them. Call me when you get the box of cards in the mail , thanks. Email me your physical home address , so I can send you a tracking number .

I'd say offer to send a check so you can get his address but we've already figured out where he keeps his stuff.

Ha he gets banned once and comes back spamming again. I wish someone would go down to this dumb ****s house and give him what he deserves. Cheng is a disgrace to all humans.
