Ordered by print data descending, none of these planeswalkers have seen a reprint in a duel deck, core set, FTV, or block set. Note planeswalkers in standard are not listed.Who will we see first? What are the predictions for sets? Does flavor dictate reprints? 1. Chandra Ablaze (zendikar) 2. Nissa Revane (zen) 3. Sarkhan the Mad (Rise) 4. Elspeth Tirel (scars) 5. Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas (Mirrodin Besieged) 6. Karn Liberated (new phyrexia) 7. Liliana of the Veil (innistrad) 8. Garruk Relentless (innistrad) 9. Tamiyo (Avacyn) __________________ Type and hit enter for quick TCG prices: www.echomage.com

What is this fascination with these planeswalkers. Most of them are OK with 3-4 being good. To me I hope to see none to be honest. Print more that are new and useful.

Karn and Liliana OTV may see printing in a modern masters incarnation.Garruk Relentless, Sarkhan the Mad, and Tezzeret AOB will most likely never be printed in a special set, as they seem to prefer using expert level expansions to showcase storyline versions of the planeswalkers, and they aren't played enough in eternal formats to warrant a printing in a masters set. Duel Decks and the liking haven't really been dealing with these incarnations. Chandra Ablaze, Nissa Revane, Elspeth Tirel, and Tamiyo could easily be printed as a core set planeswalker, or used in a special duel deck printing. My guess is that Elspeth Tirel will be the first to see print again, with Karn and Liliana otV in close second. The others are only maybes. I have to believe an FTV Planeswalkers will be made in the future, though, and the planeswalkers seeing the most tournament-level play during their respective times in the sun will be the biggest targets.

Your coreset choices feel point on. Though I think the mechanics of Liliana OTV can work in a core set.I don't necessarily agree with the split color walkers being too hard to put in a duel deck. They do force a pre built deck, wizards controls the mana and the spells so a tezzeret vs Nissa could be very fun to see. Basically elves vs artifacts. Karn's definitely is the hardest to pin point. I've heard the likely hood of double faced cards printed again is low to nil, maybe we will never see a Garruck R reprint? Dreadbore and Heros definitely make planes walkers less dominant, I wonder if other colors will get direct hate in the future.

Core sets generally have 2 or 3 of reprint planeswalkers and then 2 or 3 brand new planewalkers. Tamiyo, Nissa, and Elspeth Tirel could be reprinted walkers with a brand new Koth and maybe a brand new Sarkhan that is black only.

They are generally a reprints from the the previous base set. Chandra and Garruk are sure reprints from M14 to M15. I could see a Tamiyo reprint instead of another new Jace. Otherwise, I'd agree with Liliana OTV and/or Karn in MM2 next year as being the next reprints.

For those who read the comic books: How close have have they been following the comic books?

Nissa is getting an action figure soon and Rosewater said they have plans for her, so it's highly likely she'll be the green walker in M15 or in the fall set.http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/76918257511/its-a-little-suspect-that-nissa-revane-is-the-only#notes Garruk is still cursed (BG or B) and was recently featured in a Duel's 2015 teaser. If he shows up in M15 I think it'll be as the black walker or as 5th planeswalker much like Nicol Bolas in M13. http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/1470

I'd bet it's a different version and not a reprint. All 5 Lorwyn PWs have had multiple versions. Elspeth, Sarkhan and Tezzeret from Shards block have had multiple versions. Sorin and Gideon from Zen block have had multiple versions, it's Nissa's turn. On the other hand, every base set PW has been in at least 2 base sets except for Sorin Markov, Gideon Jura and Nicol Bolas and they were all reprints from earlier expansions. The M15 green PW should be Garruk, Caller of Beasts. I expect a new version of Nissa for the fall set.
