Anyone else experiencing a rise in Vintage Pauper events at their game store? It seems to slowly be taking over since more people can afford it ($8-$30 decks). Those who do play it; what deck do you play?

Paper or online? Paper you can use more cards due to the online version having some cards at the uncommon level. Cards like Hymn and Sink Hole are not usable online from what I rememeber. I had a High Tide pauper deck but I believe Frantic Search is now banned. Comboing out turn 4 was a major surprise to some people when all I had were commons.

Paper because I've been seeing an increase at my local gaming store. I saw some pretty interesting decks. Blue Aggro, White Weenie, Reanimator, and Mono Black Devotion are just a few.

I play pauper with a group of friends from time to time. The only deck I role is a UR storm deck. I run kiln fiend and a lot of cantrips. It's a lot of fun to play, and can hold its own.The people I play with run pauper affinity (crazy good) and the other is a horseshoe crab deck that pings you do death. What is nice about pauper is it forces you to build decks with synergy. No longer can you stuff decks full of power and expect to win. We've tried Pauper EDH, but unless you're using one of the "good" uncommon generals (zameck guildmage and the like) its mind-numbingly boring.

Mine is a bit different. I run 4x Preordain in place of a few things. Runs just like the Legacy High Tide without the counter backup. This can combo turn 2, 4 at the latest.

I'm sleeving this up now!My office has loose starter decks, and they really are not fun to play. These look like a blast. What is a good matchup for this?

Any format where combo is big is unfun. Maybe Pauper Standard would be okay.

Just saw the current Pauper banned list. The following cards are banned in Pauper:1) Cloudpost
2) Cranial Plating
3) Empty the Warrens
4) Frantic Search
5) Grapeshot
6) Invigorate
7) Temporal Fissure Seems like combo decks are being shut down with these cards gone.

Storm was overbearing in pauper.I play elves, goblins, burn, g/w hexproof, monoblack control, vampires, big mana walls (all walls that make mana + land destruction and ramp), white weenie/soldiers, and maybe couple others i can't remember. Very fun format __________________

I have a fun elves build that splashes red for fling and mob justice as well as blue for distant melodies. Pump your guy with timberwatch and then then start flinging.
