Hello my fellow MTG players/collectors. I had a simple, yet somewhat complex question that I'm sure many of you can contribute answers to!I was wondering, based on your experiences what shipping costs were from the USA to other countries and continents! For example, right now I have someone wanting me to ship in a PWE to Austria, from Texas (where I live) -- Now I know customs are involved when sending in a Bubble Mailer, are customs forms necessary when sending in a PWE... Can many of you contribute your experiences, and general costs that you have incurred while sending to places from the USA to other countries/continents? I think this would help/benefit a lot of people, not just myself... I recently shipped a Tournament deck box in a Bubble Mailer to Canada, and it cost roughly $10 ... which I thought was rather costly! -- It was regular first class, but I had to fill out a customs form, and I know the weight and bulk of the package had a lot to do with it.. Care to share? Please? Thanks, -Nick!

if you want any protection at all, shipping anywhere outside of the USA is going to cost $15 minimum.

Well, he wants me to ship PWE to Austria, no protection. Of course, though, I asked him to assume all responsibility- thus far it comes to around $50 total, in cards... am I just asking for a bad situation, ya think?

I've shipped to a reputable person in Austria a few times with no problem but id never ship a pwe overseas. Too many chances for the envelope to be sorted and torn to bits.

All international shipping depends on weight. For something with a toploader in it weighing less than 3 ounces will cost around $3. You will have to go to www.usps.com to get a price or go to a local store. Also, as long as you get his waiver of responsibility in writing, it's all on the other party. Don't sweat it. Just make sure you get the waiver in writing. For many folks overseas, it's a good way to avoid customs taxes and fees. It's not that sketchy for someone overseas to ask you to send via PWE. It would be if s/he absolutely refused to waive liability.

well documented in countless BTAs. Get a waiver or make sure you are willing to assume the risks. Hope for the best but always plan for the worst.

Thanks again everyone .. Basically it's the same as shipping close to home, except there's not a cheap way to track packages =\

I miss the old days were people just trusted one another and I could send a Birds of Paradise (a big deal then) to whereever and get my side of the trade in return without having to send registered and such. Which doesn't give me any insurance but the fact that it costs Euro 15,- more.Just send it in a bubble envelope, 2 A4 papers around it like it's a letter and off it goes. __________________ I'm a geek, you're a geek. FYI, Just because you are covered from MOTL's side doesn't mean you can't still get scammed. Paypal doesn't recognize MOTL responsibility waivers and will refund gift payments. Edit: also, make sure you get an explicit agreement from them saying they waive responsibility. An email response of "ok" is not the same thing as "I waive your responsibility to ensure the cards arrive"

Absolutely correct in both cases. As long as you leave $0.00 balance on your PayPal, however, the worst they can do is close/suspend your account.

Like I said, it depends on weight. You can go to www.usps.com and go to "Calculate a price" (or whatever it's called) to get better info. It helps if you can estimate the weight of the envelope to the nearest ounce (rounded up).
