They're not on the list because it's a fake list

Yup, looks like it was a fake. There will likely be a lot of the one-time ramp guys in the set though, so we will get to suffer through Emrakul getting hard cast.

So metalcraft looks to be a thing here. Will the eldrazi spawn be a thing too?

Metalcraft is supposed to be the white-blue strategy. http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/feature/developing-and-designing-modern-masters-2015-edition-2015-05-04 "The white-blue artifacts strategy was a popular archetype from Modern Masters. .... As it turned out, white-blue ended up being the best place to put this deck again." Elzdrazi spawn may be a thing for Black-Green decks (same article), "For instance, the black-green archetype in this set is all about making tokens and sacrificing them for value." It may make sense to have a Gx ramp strategy as well which the spawn could also play with. Apparently the Blue-Red theme is elementals: http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/making-magic/mining-past-2015-05-04 "Traditionally blue-red tends to be the "spells matter" color combination, but the available cards didn't really support this theme. So Erik and his team got creative choosing to give blue-red a theme of Elementals." Summary - revealed archetypes: WU - Metalcraft BG - Token sacrifice UR - Elementals

Finkel's article on the Shadowmage reprint is hillarious.http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/feature/shadowmage-himself-2015-05-05 "There is no strategy for Shadowmage Infiltrator. If you put it in a serious Constructed deck, you are wrong. If you take him highly in a Cube draft, you are also wrong. If you play him in a Cube draft, you are likely, but not definitely, wrong. I haven't seen the rest of Modern Masters 2015 Edition, but I suspect Shadowmage will be playable but unspectacular. Which is about the best he's been in a very long time."

Best preview article ever.I've always loved SMI and have tried to play him a few times. I'm a little disappointed it's taking a rare slot though. A card like that would likely be printed at uncommon using current power levels. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

There's a few turds that are taking the rare slot so far. Glad to see Hurkyl's recall in this set to drive the online price back to reality.

I do like that they still worded shadowmage as having fear. You just don't see that anymore. Intimidate would also imply that blue and black creatures can block it so therefore it has to be fear.

Man, remember the days when Shadowmage Infiltrator was a $15-20 chase rare? He was actually pretty solid back in the day when Magic: the Gathering was about magic, and not just smashing dudes together like Pokemon.I say that as my main Modern decks are Merfolk and Affinity...

When morphing a 4/5 flying Lifelink guy turn 4 tapping out both turn 3 & 4 (unless you were lucky enough to curve out with a turn 1 bird) was crushing to an opponent. I actually really liked running SMI along side of Laquatus champ & ichorid in a sorta aggro build.

For those of you who ignored the Quag Sickness spoiler article (by Good Gamery who spoiled it originally in ?M11), it's clearly fake. They've been previewing so many ridiculous things that keep getting added to the spoiler (Magmaw among them). It's actually great every time a card from GG ends up in the spoiler (Krenko's Command with modal is my favorite one)

So, I'm noticing a thing or two with this set: Lots of white cards are from Kamigawa. A bunch of blue cards are from New Phyrexia. Red cards are from Zendikar and Alara. Green cards from...things with tokens and buffs. And black cards from Lorwyn. I do approve of the Expedition Map reprint - having to pay more then $0.50 for that card is a crime. But I'm sad to see....no filters or manlands

I'm kind of glad now that I didn't get around to selling off some of my Modern staples. Almost nothing I have is getting reprinted. There are some disappointments, for sure. I'm very shocked not to see Serum Visions in here. That just seemed like such a no-brainer. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

It's nice they printed Thief of Hope as a common for pauper cube, but W/B should have been Orzhov. W/R could have been samurais if they *had* to put in a deck from Kamigawa. Also no Tallowisp = ????? !!!!! ... that's the best non-rare spirit.

Sure, but do you really want the spirit player to start playing arrest four turns in a row because of an uncommon?

I was suprised at stuff not printed: Damnation balefire liege (printed other liege but nobilis was?) White having all of this equipment equip but no stoneforge?? Okay correction Armament Master or puresteel paladin Only one Hatchling? None of of the other enchantments? REACH from a format of draft sealed, not one creature has it??? Goblin guide? Made sense for the format and value. wildfire in its spot made no sense. Manlands I expected them considering they were popular at time. Chameleon Colossus made sense for green, not knocking the hierach reprint but two exalted cards hardly make a deck viable. I can't even follow where black is going given its random creature types for draft. let alone the lack of decent com/unc to draft in black. Mirran crusader makes it but not its black counterpart??? Intomible archangel, really?? it got battlegrace for draft, there isn't even much artifact destruction. I thought for sure the red creature that destroys an artifact when it comes into play for 4 would have made it. I expected at least a swords of something not comet stormI didn't expect every card I opened to be 10.00, but at least if it is a dud, make it have synergy with the other cards. Lastly this format, good creatures are going to come at a premium. There is a ton of removal in this

They won't print Stoneforge Mystic in modern masters cause it is banned in modern.

This set is so bad for how much it will cost that I'm canceling my Vegas trip. Already called Priceline to see if I can transfer my hotel reservation (I can). CFB already refunded my registration fee. And I booked my ticket through Southwest so I can cancel that at anytime.
